Yes, we know!

It's been a wild year for may of us. From the Russia vs. Ukraine wars, the concerns surrounding the FIFA World Cup in Qatar to Twitter suddenly going down, it's no wonder that people are thinking the world is finally ending. However, I must say that the Internet has also caused us to be extremely irrational without second thought.

Now, let us talk about the elephant in the room! Elon Musk has been laying off thousands of employees from several Twitter offices. So far, there hasn't been any news confirming that Twitter is literally shutting down and all we know is this will be temporary until next week.
As he had ended remote work, he has given them the ultimatum on whether they should work forty hours a week in the office or risk loosing their jobs if they don't. This means that Twitter is now running on a skeleton crew (basically a limited number of people who blocks out misinformation and fake accounts).
Here is my two cents so take it with a grain of salt and no! I will not allow any bots or smack talk in my server.
First, it wouldn't make sense for Elon Musk, a genius billionaire behind TESLA, to buy a company that's beyond saving. Second, he knows what he's doing (hopefully) and people don't get that he is trying to improve the site in his own way. Third, Twitter ain't gonna disappear as it still has many users and we don't have any perfect alternative for it (e.g. MySpace disappeared ever since Facebook was introduced).
I may not be a Twitter user, but I don't want it to disappear forever. It's very important especially to creatives, businesses and other public figures who want to share bite-sized info quickly. I heard that many people are also flocking to Instagram, Facebook or Tumblr in panic.
If there's one thing we can learn from this, it is we should take a step back and do our research. Don't just believe anything you see on social media alone and wait until you hear the whole story.
