"Girl! You know this is my jam!" she screamed back, grinning madly.

"You are mentally insane!," I laughed.

"You can't touch this, you can't touch this, you can't touch this. My, my, my music hits me so hard. Makes me say 'Oh my Lord' Thank you for blessing me," she sang along.

"Elle! Shut up, and put the volume down! I'm about to die and you're over here singing MC Hammer!" I yelled at her, clutching my stomach in laughter.

"Alright," she said, turning down the volume and putting in another disc. Before I knew it Bad Day was playing.

"Oh my god! Elle!" I said in disbelief. She looked at me nonchalantly, "Yes?" I rolled my eyes and enjoyed the song. It could quite possibly be the last song I hear before I transcend into the afterlife.

"Do you have every song to match a mood on a disc?" I asked.

"What song?" she asked, feigning stupidity.

"I love you," I laughed.

She stopped the car in front of my house, turned off the radio, and turned to face me seriously, "Alex, I know you've been harboring these feelings for a while now. But... I just don't go that way. I mean, there's nothing wrong with your sexual preferences but we should continue as friends," she said.

"You're a dick." I smiled, stepping out the car.

"You're certainly right. Remember, don't go down without a smile," she advised me. "Call me later if you're still breathing!"

She drove off and I was left to face my parents alone. I stepped up to my porch and took a deep breath before opening the door slowly. Maybe if the coast was clear I could run upstairs and convince my parents that I've been hiding in my room the whole entire time. "She's 5'5, blonde hair, blue eyes. She's wearing a white tank top, a black leather jacket... Never mind, she just came home," my mom said the last part into the phone but her eyes, that had turned into daggers, were directed at me. Her eyes cut through mine in a way that made me want to turn back and run like hell down the street.

She hung up the phone and crossed her arms over my chest. "Dave, the delinquent is home!" my mom screamed, turning her head slightly while still keeping her eyes on me.

"You can't just assume I'm a delinquent. Maybe I was kidnapped. Maybe I just escaped from thieves. Instead of punishing a young child for being so brave and saving herself we should all go to Chuck E. Cheese. We should all have a pizza, and laugh--" I began.

"We called the library," my dad interuppted. "You weren't there. In fact, you never never showed up. They hadn't seen anyone of your description" my dad said, coming into the room.

"Jesus dad, how old are you? You don't sign into a library, you just go in. Of course they're not going to see notice me." I stated. They both narrowed their eyes at me.

My mom stepped up to me and handed me a brochure. It had a giant school on the front, with small pictures of grinning kids in burgundy private uniforms. "What do I need this for?" I asked.

"Well, your father and I have talked. We agreed your behavior has tremendously plunged from last year. As have your grades, so we enrolled you in this boarding school," my mom informed me. My eyes slid down to the paper and my mouth fell open.

"In Maine?! You know that's like 400 miles away from here? You guys are sending me away?! What kind of parents are you?" I screamed.

"Don't use that tone with us. It's the final resort. This school is one of the strictest in the country and we need you straightened out," dad said in a threatening voice.

"And if I don't go?"

"You don't have a choice."

"But I could run away after you drop me off. Plus, I don't know anyone in Maine!"

"Your aunt and uncle live a few blocks from the school. Trust me, you won't be running away."

I let myself lean against the wooden door. "We have to scoop to this. In the past year we've grounded you, took away your electronics, we've tried everything. What's going on Alex?" my mom asked. I remained silent.

"We can help you through this." she tried.

"My problem is you! You guys freak out over the simplest things, okay so I stay out a little. Chill the fuck out! And now, Maine?! I hate you guys!" I blurted out. I felt a sharp sting against my cheek and my head was quickly swept to the side. My head automatically reached up to touch my red face and my dad was staring at his hand in shock.

I quickly ran past them, stomped upstairs and cried into my pillow.

Not as eventful as the Prologue probably was, but the next chapters probably won't be since I wanna introduce the characters.
