"I'll go get it" the Italian said walking towards the door
It had been a crazy day. It was finally Luna's birthday and she had decided she wanted a movie night so the couple decided to organize a little birthday party with family and friends and after singing the girl happy birthday she would have a movie night with her friends.
"Where's the birthday girl?" Amelia said entering the house followed close behind by Kai
"Amelia!" Luna said running towards the woman. Amelia had become an important person in the girl's life, not to mention the coolest person she knows (Luna's words). She loved her auntie Amelia and of course she loved Kai as well
"There you are" she said hugging the girl tight "I missed you" she said refering to the fact that the girl hadn't been going to the hospital that much "I need my little partner with me"
"Missed you too" she said letting go of the brunette to now turn herself towards Kai "Hi Kai"
"Up high little one" the doctor said rising their hand on the air making the nine year old jump to give them a high five
"Amelia, Kai" Maya said greeting the two doctors with a smile "Thank you for coming" she said as she closed the door behind them
"We wouldn't miss it" Amelia said smiling towards the little girl next to her "and we have a little surprise for her" she said making the nine year old look at her tilting her head to the side a little
"Surprise?" she asked, Luna had already received Amelia and Kai's gift for her birthday "What is it?" she said now excited
"Well you have to close your eyes and then we will give it to you"
"Let's go sit for a minute so they can bring your surprise in" Carina said taking the girl's hand, leading her towards the sofa on the living room
On the living room, awaited Emma, Pru and Ellis that were playing with some of the five year old's dolls, there were also Zola and Bailey who were talking to some of Luna's classmates and of course Sofia who waited for her best friend to come back while the adults where scattered around the room.
Luna sat on the middle of the sofa impatiently waiting for the couple to bring her her surprise. Sofia was given the job of making sure the kid didn't cheat so she placed her hands on the girl's eyes making sure she wasn't able to see anything
"Now here we are" Luna heard her mom's voice say "You sure she isn't peeking?" the blonde asked towards the green-eyed girl
"Sure" she said with a nod
"Okay then here you go" she said as Luna felt a heavy box being placed on her lap while her friend took her hands off her face
She looked at it for a minute not really understanding what was the big deal about it. It was a white box with a red ribbon around it and it was quite heavy. She was about to open it when she could swear she felt the box moving making her open her eyes big as her mouth fell on a perfect a shape. She quickly opened the box revealing a little white, blue-eyed puppy with black, grey and brown stains all over his body
"I give up" she heard Andy say "I can't beat that" she said making Vic and Travis laugh
"Welcome to the club" Vic said patting her back
She slowly took the puppy out of the box and placed him on her chest "Hi baby" Luna whispered starting to giggle when the dog started to lick her chin
Amelia had talked about this with Carina, and after a lot of talking the couple decided it was good idea. They read that a pet could be good for kids that struggle with anxiety or any kind of PTSD
