"Girls come here" Carina said loudly to her daughters that were playing in their room "Dinner's ready" she announced. After a few minutes she could hear hurried footsteps coming from the hallway, revealing the two girls.
While they were having dinner, Luna couldn't help but stop for a second just to take it all in. She had a home, she had her moms, she had her sister, she finally felt a part of something... she was happy.
When dinner time was over, Emma run to the living room to go pick a movie. It had become a thing that they would watch a movie until it was bedtime and Emma loved it, Luna on the other hand just liked that she got to cuddle with her mammas for a little while before going to bed.
As they were picking the movie something caught Luna's eye. It was a pile of boxes and bags that definitely weren't there before
"What's that?" she asked catching her moms' attention
"Why don't you go check it out?" the brunette said smiling earning a confused look from the girl
Luna slowly walked towards the boxes, kneeling in front of the pile, grabbing the one that was on top of it. She scanned it carefully and frowned when she noticed her name was written on it.
"Mine?" she asked turning back to look at her moms
"Those are some early birthday presents" the blonde explained walking closer to the almost nine-year-old crouching next to her
"...but my birthday is next month" she said a little confused. It had been a long time since she last celebrated her birthday, she almost forgot about the presents
"Try telling that to a bunch of firefighters" the Italian said making her wife chuckle
"Want to open them?" Maya asked seeing a spark of excitement rise in her daughter's eyes as she nodded "go ahead" she said as her wife sat next to her in the ground with Emma on her lap
Luna carefully tore the wrapping paper from the box in her hands. She slowly opened the box finding a drawing that was evidently made by Pru and a complete coloring set.
"Look Emma we get to paint" the almost nine-year-old said showing her baby sister the new things she's gotten
"Me too?" Emma asked looking a little doubtful
"Of course silly, we can share" she said making both of the women in the room smile
"Yay!" the toddler said as she leaned her back into her mamma's chest giggling
Luna was quick to reach another gift, a little more confident this time. She decided to grab one of the bags. She peeked inside the bag and a large smile took over her face when she found a couple of books inside of it
The girl continued to open presents, repeating the same motions, tearing the wrapping paper and opening bags to get her presents.
"Thank you" the little brunette said standing up going to hug the blonde that happily received her with open arms and then did the same with the Italian making the toddler giggle being trapped in the middle of them
"There's one more present" the brunette said as her wife stood up looking for something in one of the drawers
"Here you go" she said when she finally found it walking back to where she was before "This one's ours" she said placing the bag on the girl's lap
Luna slowly reached for what was inside with one hand. She found an envelope and a little box. Curious she left the envelope on the ground and began to open the little box. When she was able to open it, she gasped at the little moon silver bracelet
