Carina had been a nervous wreck ever since she arrived to the scene. The school called her a few times before she could finally take the call. At first she didn't understand what was happening but as soon as her brain processed the information, she left as fast as she could to the place.

The brunette couldn't stop walking from one side to the other trying to stay positive but it was being very complicated at the moment. The fact that the rest of the firefighters had already came out of the building, with the exception of Andy, didn't help. Why were they taking so long?

Suddenly she saw them. Maya came out of the building with little Emma in her arms followed by Andy who was holding Luna. The brunette felt able to breathe again and she let out a breath that she did not know she was holding. They rushed to an aid car to make sure the two girls were okay while the brunette tried to reach them as best as she could, sneaking into the crowd of parents who were anxiously waiting for their children and kids who had not been picked up just yet.

When they finally met, Maya quickly put her hand on her wife's back, rubbing it slowly knowing how stressed she probably was but at the same time wanting something to bring her back to reality herself, something that reassured her that it was over, and that they were safe

"They are both all right" the man in the aid car said "I'm gonna leave them with the masks on for a few more minutes but then you are good to go" he announced leaving the four of them alone.

That was it, they both let out a relief breath as a smile slid across the women's mouths. Carina looked at her wife smiling, trying to give her some kind of comfort and then walked off towards the kids, sitting next to the five-year-old

"I'm sorry..." the little blonde said taking her mask off a little so she could talk "I got scared" she said trying to explain herself with tears in her eyes "I didn't..." she started as she felt her chest clench with guilt but was quickly cut off

Emma went to see her sister for a little bit when suddenly a very loud noise was heard. She got scared when everyone started running around screaming so she run to the closest place she could hide in

"Emma!" the eight-year-old said as she run behind her sister trying to reach her "Emma... please we need to go" she said entering the last cubicle of the restroom

"No, no, no" the little blonde responded as she covered her ears and closed her eyes. She could hear the voices from the hallway and a lot of kids screaming and crying

"Come on Em" Luna tried to convince her to go with  the others, knowing that to stay in a restroom without anyone knowing wasn't a good idea, but Emma wouldn't listen, she just shook her head "It's not safe here, I keep you safe remember? Please come" the brunette begged but the toddler was too scared.

Luna looked back at the doors, there was no light and the sounds sounded distant, there was no point in trying to convince her sister so she just sat next to her pulling her close. Emma waisted no time in hugging her sister by the waist as she run her fingers through her hair. Someone will have to come right?

After a few minutes Luna noticed the smell, and a little bit of smoke coming from under the door so she pulled apart and gave her sister her jacket "Put it in your nose and your mouth, like when you go underwater" she explained

"Like this?" the little girl asked looking at her sister for any signs of approval

"Yes..." she answered as she tried to concentrate in her own breathing, which was getting uneaven as the minutes went by.

"It's okay bambina" Carina said trying to comfort the girl "What matters is that you and your sister are safe" she said stroking the girl's hair "Now put that back on" she said placing the mask back on the child's face
