Rose is 3. Finn is 16.

Tommy pov

Laying in bed with my wife, I can't help but think of how my world has changed completely. I have a wife, a son, a daughter....Well, kind of daughter. She is my daughter by Law, and love but my sister by blood. When our father abandoned her (no surprise there), she was left on my doorstep like trash. In the freezing cold with only a nappy to keep her warm and the salty tears that ran down her cheeks. That was 3 years ago, and Rose understands that she is adopted and she also understands that my brothers are her brothers. She understands as much as a 3 year old can. But I will explain it to her again when she is a little older.

I also have a son, Charlie. He's 1 and a bubbly little boy. Always happy and abit too curious to the point where I worry. Rose loves him and is so good with him. She can calm him when he cries, constantly plays with him and shares her things with him. I'm sure it won't last long since brothers and sisters naturally hate one another as they get older and then suddenly, when they become adults, act like best friends again with the odd argument.

Grace had her head on my chest as I wrapped my arms around my sleeping wife. It was early morning, very early morning. 2 o'clock! My door opened and I was aware who it was straight away. I felt the bedsheets tug as Rose tried to scramble onto the bed however failed. I removed one arm from around my wife and lifted my daughter onto the bed. By this point, Grace has woken up and Rose was giggling in the middle of us

"Why're you awake love?" I asked her

"I wanted sleep with you" she said laying down in bed. Me and Grace lay down with her and eventually, we were all asleep

When the morning came, Tommy was up and dressed first as usual and I lay in bed for a little while with my daughter. Rose was laying on my chest giving me a hug when I woke up. By the looks of it, she was still asleep

"Rose sweetie" i whispered quietly shaking her slightly. That was followed my a mufled groan as she knew what I was going to say

"We're going shopping today so gotta get up" she buried her face deeper into my chest and hugged me tighter. Rose hated shopping because she was 3, she had alot of tantrums. And me and Tommy got particularly mad if she had a tantrum in public. Shopping normally means she will cry and lay on the floor if she doesn't get her way. Tommy came in and looked at us both

"Rose, time to get up" he said trying to pry Rose off me but she wouldn't let go. I stood up with her still in my arms and then she looked at Tommy

"I go Arthurs?" Please daddy" she begged

"No darling. We are going shopping because you and Charlie need some new clothes. You have to come with us and see if you like them and have them tailored to fit" Tommy told her

"I go sleep now mama" she said resting her head on my shoulder and closing her eyes. God this girl

"Why don't you go see if Charlie's awake?" I suggested. She suddenly perked up and wriggled out of my arms.

"This is gonna be a stressful day" Tommy said as he sat on the bed. I sat on his lap and he put his head in the crook in my neck, giving me kisses

"Tonight, I'll work to relieve you of all the stress Mr Shelby" I whispered into his ear

"Is that so?" I nodded myhead smiling at him. He kissed me softly on the lips and said

"Can't wait" but the moment was ruined by the footsteps of children.

"Charchee is awake" Rose said happily. Charlie followed her steps walking towards us but falling over a few times. He toddled over smiling widely as I lifted him in my arms. We all stood up and Tommy lifted Rose onto his hip. Then, we all went to get ready which with a 3 year old is harder than you might think. It involves the added pressure of Rose trying to run away every second just for the fun of it

When we were ready, we all got in the car and I drove us there. The shop was a children's clothes shop and tailors. Charlie was easy since he was too young to object and hasn't developed an idea of what clothes he likes and dislikes. But rose is very much a picky child. She is also in a stage of tears and tantrums.

When in the shop, a woman came over and shakingly asked how she could help. Within 10 minutes, we had brought Charlie's clothes.

"You need a new dress to play in sweetie" grace reminded her as we looked at the clothes

"No. Party dwess" she said stomping her feet

"You have dozens of party dresses. You need casual clothes baby" I said. She screamed again so I crouched to her level

"Watch it young lady. I don't raise brats" I said sternly

"Fuck off" she screamed. Everyone in the shop gasped and some of the older children started laughing. Rose lay on the floor screaming and crying as she had a tantrum. Grace picked up the yelling girl and rocked her

"Sweetie, if you get a casual dress then you can play outside in it. You and Charlie can play in the garden today and you can wear your new dress" Rose stopped crying and it has turned now to sniffles

"Promise?" She said as I wiped her tears

"I promise" grace replied. Rose chose her dress and now we were back home. My wife is amazing

"I go wear dress and then we play outside" Rose said to Charlie who just smiled at her. Grace went upstairs with rose to help her put her dress on and i went into the garden with Charlie. Rose ran out 5 minutes later and immediately started playing with her brother. I was sat on a blanket on the grass with my wife as we watched our kids

"How about they spend tomorrow with Arthur" I suggested

"And what would we do?" She asked. I kissed her lips pationately as she smiled into the kiss. When we broke apart she said

"Let's hope Arthur isn't busy then"
