Beyond the Wall (Hilda x Frida)

Start from the beginning

We all fall for a few seconds before we land atop a Woff. After recovering from the impact I sit up to look at the breathtaking view of the fields and forests at the base of the mountains surrounding Trolberg. I look beside me and see Twig standing, wagging his tail happily as he feels the wind in his fur.

I glance to my other side and see Frida gripping onto the Woff for dear life with her eyes screwed shut. I chuckle a little at the sight and put my hand on her arm. She opens her eyes slightly to look at me but her grip on the Woffs fur didn't loosen in the slightest.

'You're insane, you know that right?' She says, speaking up a little so she could be heard over the wind.

'I know. It's part of my charm, don't you think?' I respond with a smile, her rolling her eyes at me. 'You can sit up y'know, this Woff is actually quite gentle' I inform her.

'I'm good. I'd rather not fall to my death thank you very much'

'Frida' I start, her looking at me again. 'Do you trust me?'

'Well of course but that doesn't-'

'Then take my hand and relax, you're not going to fall. I promise'

She hesitates for a moment but slowly releases her grip in one hand to grab onto mine. After a few more seconds she almost completely loosens her grip and sits up next to me. I look at her with a bright smile and she grins back at me.

'WHOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO!' I cheer out into the endless sky, laughing as I do so.

Twig lets out an adorable howl along side me making Frida and I laugh even more.

'Whooo hooo!' Frida cheers as well.

Frida, Twig and I sit atop the Woff enjoying flying through the vast endless skies and the wind in our hair, well, fur in Twigs case. Despite Frida being more comfortable on the Woff, her hand remained in mine, I definitely wasn't complaining though.

After flying for a few more minutes, the Woff flew low enough for us to hop down. We look around at the area we had found ourselves with and are met with a lovely little forest. Tall trees all around provided lovely shade from the afternoon sun, Woffs continued to fly overhead and could be seen through gaps and the sound of running water could be heard from small river to our right.

Twig begins to run towards the stream, skipping across the stones in the middle of it. I giggle at the sight and run after him. Twig and I hop along the rocks that are above the water level of the stream as Frida just walks along the bank. As I go to hop to another rock I feel myself slip which causes me to fall into the stream below. The water is about ankle height so it's not like I'm in danger or anything but being completely wet isn't the most fun thing.

'Oh goodness, Hilda! Are you ok?' Frida asks, concern evident in her voice.

'Yeah I'm alright' I say, standing up and wringing out my scarf. 'Just a bit wet' I say, jumping out of the creek and shake off as much as I can.

'Here, hold still. I've been practicing a few spells' Frida said, putting her hands on my shoulders, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. 'Yrd tnatsni, Yrd tnatsni, Yrd tnatsni!' She chanted and in just a few seconds I was completely dry again. 'It worked!' She happily cheered.

'Sure did! That magic of yours really is amazing'

'Aww thanks Hilda'

'No problem, now what should we do now?' I ask.

'Dunno, maybe we could-' Frida starts but the sound of my stomach cut her off. I blush a little in embarrassment and Frida giggled a little. 'I suppose that answers that, should we sit down for some lunch?'

'Sounds perfect' I smile. 'Mum packed us Cucumber sandwiches and some peppermint tea' I explain, pulling them out from my bag.

'Oh my favourite, remind me to thank your Mum' Frida smiled as we walked towards the base of a tree to sit down.

We sit together on the picnic rug that Frida had brung and begin to eat our lunch. We definitely didn't sit in silence, conversing about anything that came to mind as we ate our sandwiches and drank our tea.

'Today has been really great, too bad David had to miss out' I say when we had finished eating.

'Yeah it has been great' she agrees. 'Although I seriously doubt that we would have been able to get David on the back of a Woff'

'That's true' I laugh.

'We should do this more often, spend a day out, just the two of us' she suggests. 'And Twig of course' she adds on, petting the Deerfox.

'Yeah that would be nice, just the two of us' I smile back at her.

'Well' Frida starts, standing up. 'We should probably start to head back, wouldn't want to be walking back in the dark' she states, offering me her hand.

'Alright then, let's go' I say, grabbing her hand to pull myself up. The two of us beginning the trip home, our hands still intertwined.

I really need to get out of the habit of dying every now and then. So I'm not dead, I promise that I haven't given up on this book or the fourth friend and I apologise for not updating. Also I probably still won't be updating regularly cause I've got a lot of other shit to do.

Not spell or grammar checked at all.

As usual I hope that you're all having a bloody amazing day/night/whatever time you're reading. You all better be getting enough sleep, drinking water and most of all staying positive.

That's all from me mates so I'll see ya later 😁
