Act 4 Chapter 142
Summers in southern Navrika were never as extreme as the ones across the water in Oceana, and as autumn creeped in, a chill entered the air.
The Czar of Navrika clutched his overcoat a bit tighter to himself, but he never tore his eyes from the horizon. The sea was barely visible there, a thin gray strip that glistened under the high moon. It held infinite possibility but only one guarantee.
"We will set sail an hour before dawn," he spoke suddenly to his servant at his side, "but I would like you to come to the southern hall early to accompany me to see the troops off."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
"You need not sound so disappointed. You will have your chance to kill as many Oceanics as you wish once the path is cleared and victory is assured."
He turned to bestow a warm look at the boy—his faithful servant that returned to him against all odds. "I cannot wait," replied Alexander Khan, who smiled with the malice of a man whose priorities had finally solidified.
