I don't realize how long it has been but I can hear the clock ticking behind me. Every second is another second I have wasted but I can't find the strength to move.

Knock. Knock. Kncok.

The sound disturbs my mindless pondering.

"Emily?" Someone says from behind the door.

"Yes?" I peep.

"Oh, you're awake."

The voice is unfimiliar to me.

"Who is this?"

"Amanda." The voice comfirms.

Oh. It's Amanda. What does she have to say to me?

"What do you want?" I ask.

"It will be a better deal if you let me in." She suggests.

I look at myself. My hair isn't brushed, I haven't taken a shower since the accident and I'm wearing pyjamas that are four sizes too small.

"Is this the best time?" I imply.

"Well, I guess I can go ask Richelle..." Amanda is going to ask Richelle something? What do Richelle and I have in common. Then it clicks.

"Come in!" I urge. The door flings open then shuts with the same speed as it did when opening.

"Alright, where do I start?" Amanda says. I can tell she is less prepared than Richelle and isn't as bright as her but my former partner is all aboard the crazy train.

"Where does it begin?" I ask. I'm starting to get tired again but I fight the part of mine that wants to sleep.

"I need your help." Amanda bursts.

"Why?" I'm just as confused as I was when talking to Richelle.

"You know your friend Richelle?"

"Yeah..."

"Well, she's been getting into some trouble."

"And how does that concern me? If you haven't noticed, I'm not playing Barbie with her anymore." Irritation is the string that holds my voice together.

"Ugh."

"Continue." I am unamused.

"Okay. I don't know how right I am but I think I know answers. Or at least, I will.

I'm intruiged. Amanda waits for my response so I wave her on.

"So, Richelle is going a bit crazy."

I nod.

"And, the reason is this whole situation. It's making her madder than the mad hatter. She knows a lot."

I wait for Amanda to add more but she doesn't seem to have anymore words.

"What is your proposal?" I ask impatiently. The drugs the doctors gave me still haven't worn off yet.

"Find out what Richelle knows." Amanda blurts.

"No." My answer is simple but powerful.

"Why not?" Amanda begs.

"Because, this isn't my part to play." I can't think of any more words.

My phone buzzes again. I pick it up and the message brings me out of my dour.

Come on Emily. You didn't think you could solve this on your own did you?

I hesitate then I look at Amanda dead in the eye and nod.

"I will help you." I mutter.

Amanda keeps a straight face but I can tell she is bursting with excitment inside.

I'm teaming up with Amanda to take down Richelle.
