Chapter 52

I woke up with something heavy on my chest. Dahan dahan kong dinilat ang mata only to be greeted by Uno's sleeping face. I couldn't help but smile. Parang déjà vu ng una naming pagtulog ng magkasama. Only this time, I felt more at peace. And I thought I was at my most at peace that time.

I watched Uno's forehead crease with my subtle movement. His embrace tighten at mas sinuksok ang mukha sa leeg ko. I chuckled. "Uno," I called out.

"Shh, sleep some more," he whispered.

I felt the movement of his lips on my neck. His hot breath tickling. Sabagay, wala na naman akong pasok. Si Uno lang ang papasok mamaya at maiiwan ako dito sa unit habang hinihintay ang pag-uwi niya. Like a devoted wife... Napanguso ako para pigilin ang ngisi sa naiisip. 

When we got home yesterday, we got a long talk until we've decided na lumipat na ako dito sa unit niya. He insisted din na mas maalagaan niya ko when I'm here with him. Isa pa,  I wanted to treasure these preggy moments with him din kaya pumayag ako.

Now that everything's fixed with Uno, nangingibabaw na ang excitement sa akin. I'm excited to see him trying his best to be a good father. And I'm excited to spend the next years of my life with him.

Uno stirred in his sleep again at mas diniin ang mukha sa akin. Should I touch his cheeks to wake him? Magugulat kaya siya if I kiss him?  My grin finally emerged sa naiisip. Kinagat ko ang labi to stop myself from laughing. 

Parang tanga, Trish. Kung ano ano iniisip mo, eh parang kahapon lang, ready to leave ka ah. Rupok yan, sis? I grinned more.

Nagulat ako when Uno suddenly moved his head away para tignan ako. I immediately pouted to hide my grin at mabilis na tumingin sa kisame. I felt him moved away kaya napatingin ako sa kaniya. The side of his face is now resting on his palm with his elbow as support. He's smirking with his eyes on me. 

"Bakit ka nakangisi?" I asked. Did he saw me? Tinaas ko ang kilay to hide my embarrassment. He grinned in response. "Are you asking me or asking yourself?" He asked teasing.

"Heh!" mahinang tulak ko sa kaniya.

Uno lost his balance at napahiga sa kama—chuckling. I couldn't help but laugh with him. Ilang sandali kaming ganun before I felt his arms sudden movement behind me. Hinila niya ako and his arms encircled me – hugging me. Napalo ko siya sa gulat.

"Uno, ang anak mo!" Gulat kong inda sa kaniya as my body lightly fell on his chest. Uno chuckled more pero mas hinigpitan ang yakap. "Okay lang yan. May amniotic fluid, cushioned siya sa loob," sagot niya.

Alam kong tama siya but just to annoy him, sasagot pa sana ako. Pero hindi ko nagawa as he gently moved to roll us to the other side – me lying on my back and him on top of me. Gamit niya ang mga siko bilang tungkod.

I couldn't laugh anymore as I was left in stance, intently looking at him. Uno's smile remained as he watched over me. Ilang sandali when he moved his head down and kissed me. Isang dampi bago inangat uli ang ulo. He looked at my eyes.
