Chapter 17 - Jealous

The next morning, I got a call early. I knew it had to be Luke. My face lit up when his name popped up on the screen, and I hit accept.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Hey babe! Did I wake you? I didn't mean to wake you..." He answered.

"No, Luke, it's alright, babe. It's fine" I told him.

"Okay.. Well, we got off the plane safely and we're here in Florida, getting ready for our show tonight"

"That's great, babe. It hasn't even been a day and I miss you so much.."

"Yeah, I saw the picture of you from my mum"

"What picture?"

"Oh, you didn't know about that? My mum took a picture of you with all of my stuff and sent it to me"

"Oh, god... That's so embarrassing.."

"No, it's not.. It's cute"

"Thanks Lukey"

"You're welcome babe, and I gotta go. I'll talk to you later, okay?"

"You have to go this quick?"

"Yeah, babe, I'm sorry.. I'll call you after the show, if that's alright"

"Yeah, that'll be good. I love you Luke"

"Love you too, Han. Bye"

"Bye babe" I hung up, then curled back under the sheets. I wanted to talk to Luke more, but I couldn't.

Around noon, I went over to Charlotte's house. She was surprised to see me since I don't go over there a lot anymore.

"Hey Hannah!!" She exclaimed when she saw me come into her room.

"Hey Charlotte! I haven't talked to you in a while"

"Yeah, what's up with that?"

"What do you mean?"

"It's like you don't want to hang out with me anymore. It's all Luke!"

"Are you jealous?"

"No.." She crossed her arms, "just mad because you're always with Luke and never with me"

"So, you're jealous"

"Fine. I'm jealous. There, is that what you want to hear!?"

"Charlotte! Why are you getting so offensive?!"

"It's just.. You know.. You seem to be ignoring me for Luke"

"Well, I mean, he's trying to make up for the time he wasn't there for me, and fyi, he left for tour yesterday"

"Oh.. I'm sorry Hannah. I didn't know that"

"Yeah, well now you do"

Suddenly, my phone rang. It was Luke. Charlotte looked and me and asked, "Let me guess. Is it Luke?"

"Yeah, it's Luke.."

"Take it"

"I'll tell him I'll call him back, okay?"

"Okay. Answer it"

I answered it, and Luke said, "Hello?"

"Hey Luke, I, um, am at Charlotte's and can't talk. Can I call you back, babe?"

"Okay.. Um, call me whenever. I'm going to sleep, but wake me up because I want to tell you something"

"Okay, Lukey.." I said, then we said in sync, "Love you, bye"

I hung up and turned to Charlotte, "are you happy now?"

"Actually, yes. Yes I am"

"Oh my god.." I said under my breath.

"So.. How are you and the baby doing?" She changed the subject.

"Great. Twenty-five weeks and it already feels like ten years.."

"Yeah, I bet" she laughed, "Have you thought of a name for her yet?"

"Actually, no" I replied.

"Really?"

"Yeah. We've discussed a few names, but I don't know what name we're going to choose"

"Yeah, well there's so many choices these days"

"I know" we laughed. I liked talking with Charlotte like this again. It felt like old times. I'll have to do this more often...
