A new, not so bad place (Marcy x Reader)

Start from the beginning

'MARCY!' Her voice brings me out of my panicking state enough for me to act semi normal. 'Were you even listening?'

'Umm, maybe....?' I sheepishly respond.

'Whatever nerd' she dismissed before showing me what was on her phone again. We sat and laughed for a little while longer until it was the end of lunch. We packed up our stuff and started to head to class. Just as we're about to part to our different classes she grabs my hand.

'Hey Mar-Mar?'

'Hmm?' I blush a little at the contact and her calling me that nickname.

'Look I hate to be a bother but, I was wondering if... maybe sometime you could help me with my maths. I'm not exactly the best at it....' she says shamefully, fidgeting a little.

I smile at her looking so nervous.

'Of course I'll help you (Y/N), how about we meet in the library after school. I can share my notes with you there' I suggest.

'Sounds great, thanks Mar-Mar' she flashes her perfect smile. 'See you in the library later!' She waves, walking away from me.

(Y/N)'s P.O.V
'(Y/N) YOU'VE DONE IT AGAIN!' I cheer to myself as I walk away. I don't reeaaaalllllyyyy need that much help with maths but it's the perfect excuse to spend more time with Marcy. Hopefully I'll be able to concentrate for the next two lessons with me looking forward to after school so much.

Marcy P.O.V
The end of the day came quickly and I was now heading to the library. I'd barely been able to pay attention for the last two lessons, my mind kept wandering to spending the afternoon with (Y/N). I open the main doors to the library and smile when I see that (Y/N) was already here, scrolling through her phone. I walk over, put my backpack down and quietly take a seat next to her. She looked up from her phone and smiled in greeting.

'Hey Mar-Mar!' She beams.

'H-hey (Y/N)' I wave a little.

'How were your last two lessons?'

'Eh not too bad, just a bunch of useless junk that I remember none of. Actually one thing from class was that I was watching a Vagabondia chronicles theory video and some guy called it a dumb game so I had to prove him wrong of course. So I started explaining the main plot of the game but of course most of the plot doesn't make sense without the lore of the world and the lore is held together by its amazing characters and-' I cut myself off, realising I was starting to ramble. 'Oh, heh, sorry' I apologised.

'For what?' She asks genuinely.

'For rambling on like that... it's just a habit' I sheepishly answer, looking down embarrassed.

'Hey now, there's nothing wrong with that. I love it when people babble on about their interests, it's cute'

'I- thanks' I smile, a noticeable heat rising in my cheeks. 'Alright let's get onto what we're here for. Maths!'

'Aww c'mon, do we have to?' She whines.

'Mhm. Alright here's a problem from the topic we're doing right now, have a go'

'Uurrg fiiiiiiinnne!' She groans, pulling out her pencil and focusing on the problem in front of her.

I find myself lost on a trance as I watch her work. She's so focused on the problem, even sticking her tongue out slightly in concentration. I then start to focus less on what she's doing in favour of just thinking about her in general. So..... perfect. Perfect is a strong word but for her it's the right one. Pretty, funny, smart, kind, just.... perfect.
