Sa huli, ako na rin ang kusang sumuko marahil ay napagod na ako sa kakatakbo. Napahawak na lamang ako sa dibdib ko ng papalapit sa may couch para makaupo. I inhaled some air as I already sat on the couch. 

"Tubig." kaagad na pag-alok sa akin ni Xanthus ng makalapit siya sa akin. I looked up as I could see the worried expression on his face. Bahagya pa akong ngumiti sa kaniya bago ko kinuha ang hawak niyang baso ng tubig.

"Sorry...pinag-alala na naman kita." Kung kanina lamang ay masaya kaming naghahabulan na parang mga bata. Ngunit sa pagkakataong iyon ay tila kaagad nanumbalik ang pagiging seryoso ng kaniyang mukha. 

"I will take care of you, Red. Kahit anong mangyari. Kaya huwag kang humingi ng patawad. Dahil ako...ako ang nakakaramdam ng pag-aalala para sa'yo kahit hindi mo hilingin." aniya na bakas ang sinseridad sa kaniyang tono. 

"Xanthus…" I said softly. "You are so good to me while I am not." He was too promising to me habang ako ay naging masama sa kaniya. Nakagawa ako ng kamalian na hindi na maitatama pa ng isang pagkakamali. He was such a perfect mate. 

He chuckled softly. "Siguro ay nauuhaw ka lang, Red. Drink water first." He said in a humorous tone. Bahagyang napaawang ang mga labi ko. Kaagad kong inangat ang baso sa labi ko at sumimsim doon. After that, I gave it back to him and he then placed it on the side table. 

"Red…" he calls my name as our eyes met." ...stop saying those words. You are good enough." He trailed off. 

"You're mistaken, Xyrendel." I contradicted. "It was just all your beliefs on me. Siguro nga may alam ka sa'kin but you don't know the deepest of me. Hindi lahat. Kaya huwag mong sabihin na I am good enough, Xyrendel." 

His eyes get drowsy the moment I was waiting for him to utter at least a word but he keeps his mouth shut while staring at me.

"Paano mo nasabing I am good enough, ha? Paano? Sabihin mo sa akin!" It was almost a shout. Paano niya nasabing I am good enough kung pinagtaksilan ko siya? Paano niya nasasabi ang mga salitang iyon? Kung hindi niya naman talaga alam ang katotohanan. 

"You are so precious to me, Red. As I said, I'm here to protect you even if I'll sink."

 Those words echoed in my hearing. I bit my lower lip to suppress my emotion. I don't know what word I gonna throw at him. His words make me flutter to the point my heart palpitates so quickly. 

My phone vibrated. I got text messages from Kua Neo. 

From: Kua

Stay put there, baby sis. 

From: Kua

We will just have to deal with the Dark himself. 

I was going to type a reply to him but then a new text message popped up. 

From: Sweet

President's care. Hope all. 

"Uhm...it's just Sweet and Kua Neo." I smiled at Xanthus as I took away my sight from the phone. 

 "I notified Neo that you were here," he said as I simply nodded my head. 

I was just worried about Kua Neo dahil maaaring masaktan din siya ni Scott. And Sweet was there also! Scott was so freaking mad at me recently! I never...never imagine Scott being mad like that. He gets mad but it was a far different stage of being mad Scott showed to me. It was just like...it wasn't him. It was just like...he wasn't that Scott I knew. It was just like...he turns out into a furious beast hunting his prey.
