Theodora's POV

What are they doing now, I don't like this. What is he getting himself into! Why did he have to be in Gryffindor, why couldn't he have been in Slytherin, so I didn't have to worry about him doing something dangerous! We're eleven, for goodness sake! What could he have gotten himself into?

I thought as I stared at Draco at dinner. He sulked in his spot in between Weasley and Granger, who always seem to be around him these days. The whole Gryffindor house was annoyed with the four of them, now they were in fourth place for the house cup.

"Why are you staring at Malfoy, so intensely?" Pansy whispered, elbowing me. I shrugged,

"I was just thinking how I wished he were in Slytherin, I mean look how annoyed people are with him."

"Wait, but I thought you didn't like him very much," Daphne said, confused.

"I don't but I mean, imagine your entire house hating you, that would be horrible." I shuddered, cringing at the memory.

"Well, that's their fault. Outbreeding a dragon, honestly, how stupid." Pansy rolled her eyes, as she ate some more mashed potatoes.

"I know, that's why I stopped them! Honestly, it's ridiculous." I said, shaking my head.

"Yeah, you were right to do that. Imagine a fully grown dragon attacking the castle! Terrifying!" Daphne shuddered, at the memory as Pansy and I laughed.

---

"That was no stranger Hagrid met in the village. It was Snape. Which means he knows how to get past Fluffy." I heard Potter say, as I searched for Professor Snape, to ask about some homework assignments, who seemed to be nowhere in sight, one afternoon.

"And with Dumbledore gone..."

"Good afternoon." Snape's bitter voice said, appearing out of nowhere.

"Now what would three fine Gryffindors such as yourselves be doing inside on such a lovely day?" He asked,

"We were just..."

"You want to be careful. People will think you're... up to something." With that Snape turned on his heels, his long dark cloak swinging dramatically.

"What do we do now?" Draco asked, his voice making completely forget about asking Snape about the homework assignments.

"Go through the trapdoor, tonight," Potter said. I glanced at Draco, who nodded along without a second thought.

---

Why am I even doing this?

I thought as I searched for the Gryffindor Common room, looking at all the portraits. Then the fat lady portrait opened, and Draco came out with his friends.

"Draco!" I called out, running over to them. Draco widened his eyes at me, looking confused.

"What are you doing here, Dora?"

"I know what you're about to do! And I won't let you go with them!" I shouted he shushed me.

"How did you find out?" Granger asked me,

"We'll you three aren't the quietest people in the library. And I heard you with Snape."

"You are just everywhere, aren't you?" Weasley snapped,

"Yes I am, and I won't let you go Draco." He looked at me, surprised.

"What why not?"

"I know there are some crazy obstacles, and you could get hurt! You're not going." I said, pointing at him.

"Draco is his own boy you have no right-"

"Oh shut up, Granger. He will not," I snapped, grabbing Draco's arm, and pulling him closer to me, and away from them.

"Dora, I'll be fine, just go back to your dorm room." I shook my head.

"No, I will not. They can go, I don't care, but your... mum will kill me if I let you die." Draco and I stared at each other for a minute before he signed and nodded.

"You guys go, I'll stay here with you Dora," Draco said,

"What!"

"You can't"

"It's fine, go. I trust you guys to take care of this." Draco said. I smiled as they sulked and walked away.

"Now, let's go back to the dorm room so I can make sure you stay put all night," I said, dragging him to the Gryffindor common room.

"I hate you, Dora," Draco muttered,

"It's okay, Draco. I hate you too." I said, smiling.

---

"Another year has gone! Now as I understand it, the House Cup needs awarding, and the points stand thus: In fourth place, Gryffindor, with 312." Dumbledore said, at our last dinner of the year. I looked at my friends excitedly, knowing we won our House Cup and the Quidditch Cup.

"In third place, Hufflepuff, with 352 In second, Ravenclaw, with 426, And in the first place, with 472 points... Slytherin House." We erupted in cheers, smiling proudly. I looked over at the Gryffindor table, smirking at Draco, who rolled his eyes at me.

"Yes; well done, Slytherin. However, recent events must be taken into account. I have a few last-minute points to award. "Dumbledore said, we stopped our cheers, the smiles from our faces falling, I nervously started chewing on my bottom lip.

"First, to Miss Hermione Granger, for the cool use of intellect when others were in grave peril... fifty points." Granger goes a little pink, covering her face with her hands, as the Gryffindor's cheer loudly.

"Second, to Mr. Ronald Weasley, for the best-played game of chess Hogwarts has seen in many years... fifty points." The Gryffindor's cheer again, as Weasley's goes a little red.

"What in Merlin's name is going on?" Pansy whispered. I shrugged.

"Third, to Mr. Harry Potter, for pure nerve and outstanding courage, I award Gryffindor House... sixty points."

"We're tied," Someone muttered,

"To Mr. Draco Malfoy for understanding a friend's fear, and staying with them, I award Gryffindor ten points," Draco goes a little red, and he smiles shyly.

"And finally...it takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but even more to stand up to our friends. I, therefore, award 10 points to... Mr. Neville Longbottom." The Gryffindor's all erupt in cheers.

"Assuming my calculations are correct, I believe a change of decoration is in order." The green, Slytherin decorations all changed into red, Gryffindor decorations.

"What a waste of time being nice to teachers. Remind me next year to not give a shit." Blaise yelled angrily.
