"Tonight maybe, if you aren't busy?" he suggested. I nodded and we both walked to the CT room seeing as Dr. Yang had paged us both.

As we entered a corridor I saw that Derek bumped into someone, that someone being Meredith." Hey!" Derek and Meredith exclaimed with big smiles on their faces. I still couldn't believe they were just friends by the way they were looking at each other.

As Meredith was about ask something Addison came out of the elevator and walked towards us. "Oh hey." she greeted. I gave her a quick glance with a smile.

"Well, this is awkward," I mumbled just so that Derek could hear me. I saw him glance down at me but say nothing. As we all parted ways most awkward way possible, I went with Derek.

"It's not awkward, Malia. We're friends you know, we're growing." Derek tried his best to explain, but it was hard to even hear him.

"Do you even know Meredith?" I sighed. Derek furrowed. "She won't be friends with Addie, she's just not that girl you know. There is no way they will be friends." I chuckled.

"Why?"

"Because they won't. She won't put any effort into it, okay. It happens like that." I finished and we walked inside the room where Cristina had the scans.

We finished looking at the scans and concluded that the surgery needs to be performed today. "Okay, I guess I'll see you in the OR?" I said my goodbyes to Derek and walked away to go and get ready for the surgery.

"Alright everybody, it's a beautiful afternoon to save lives, let's have some fun." Derek said the magical words and gave me a quick smile which I returned.

-

"We need a drink." I sighed as I took off my scrub cap. "Maybe two." I stared at Derek who looked lost. "Derek, it's okay. It happens okay, we both lost two patients today, it happens, but we have to get over it." I comforted Derek.

After a moment of silence he mumbled in an agreement and we walked to Joe's.

"So, you were the sixth patient?" Addison sat down next to us. Both of us nodded, clearly in our thoughts. "Okay, let's do something to cheer you up." called Addison. "Mals, tell us about your week."

"Uh-...n-nothing much, just the regular." I quickly answered. "I mean, I'm still worried about Scarlett because the money hasn't been going through, but I'm starting to think that it's probably because they finally settled down." I decided to get out of a sticky situation using Scarlett. I truly was worried about her.

"I don't understand, why can't you just go fight for her." Furrowed Addison. "You can get proof that something is going on where they live and maybe, with enough bargaining you will be able to adopt her."

"Addison, have you seen me?" I coughed. "There is no way I would be able to live with a kid and still have a neurosurgeon career, I am too young for that." I laughed at her suggestion. "I am not mother-type, I won't be good at it so why even try?"

A little cliffhanger in the end. I'm still thinking about the whole Scarlett storyline and where it should go and how it should go.

I want to spoil a little on this not fully thought-out decision of mine, I just want to see what you think of it.

Maybe I could do this book till the end of season 8, and then the next book would be like a time jump to after Derek dies. Like.

Malia Grey returns. Or something.

Of course I can't promise you guys anything, cuz I only yesterday thought of this idea, but what are your thoughts? Is it a great idea?
