Summary: Amongst the chaos back home, Auston and his girlfriend take a short vacation out to the beach with his family- getting some rays and the chance to de-stress

Requested: Yes (changed some parts)

Everyone knew that Auston Matthews was a play boy, he could have any girl he wanted which usually took form in a specific type. He was an amazing hockey player and Toronto's pride and joy when it came to their losing hockey team. No matter what, there was a certain image that Auston felt as though he had to uphold.

Which is why moments like these were so important.

Finally getting a break from the chaos, The man was able to take off on vacation with his family and his little cousins- He was lucky to bring his girlfriend Y/N who had been his rock in recent months. He felt as though he has been carrying the team on his back and while that wasn't true, he needed a break- some time away from Mitch and the others, just enough for him to get his head in the right place.

Hopefully when vacation was over, he would be rejuvenated and ready to help lead his team to the playoffs.

As the sun spread a warmth over his bare chest- he laid back on his towel which was slowly becoming covered in sand. His body was covered in a thick layer of Sunscreen which he protested- the feeling of having grains of sand stuck to his skin mixed with the slimy sun protectant was irritable- but his mother threatened to slap him upside the head if he refused to put it on.

He was a grown man of 22 years, but his mother was still the decision maker when he was home. No one ever disrespected her, and they would be foolish to even try. The sound of children playing hit Auston's ears- his face breaking into a small grin, there she was- his girlfriend- standing in the water with one of his baby cousins on her hip.

Her bathing suit hugged her in the best possible way and he found himself becoming happier every second his eyes lingered on her. Y/N's hair was tied up and away from her face- allowing him to see just how beautiful she really was, but in all honesty that wasn't what he cared about. The press may say he is a womanizer and that he doesn't know how to contain himself, but staring at his girl- Auston knew it was all lies.

Even though his girlfriend was smoking hot, he loved seeing her personality shine through her actions, the way she played with the kids and talked with his family made everything simple. He loved her.

By the time his cousin had run off to his mom, Auston was pleasantly surprised to had his girl walk over and sit in his lap- taking the beer from his hands and raising it to her lips. There were a few beads of sweat around her forehead and he couldn't help but chuckle as he wiped them away. "Decided to finally come see me yeah?" He grabbed a hold of her hips to ensure that she wasn't going anywhere- cause before they knew it, his family would probably end up dragging her away again.

A soft chuckle slipped past Y/N's lips, she took another sip of his beer before letting it just rest in her hands- the taste of lime coated her tongue and she hummed. "Your family is tiring." She teased him. "I think I just got more cardio by running around with him than Ive done all year.." She pointed towards the baby boy whom was sitting in his grandma's lap.

Sitting up straight, Auston kissed her cheek. "They like you- thats a good thing." He reminded her, they had been dating for a while now so being around his family wasn't new- but sometimes he would like to have her to himself. He met her lips as she turned and kissed him back, it was nothing lustful or rough, just a simple little peck to show that they cared.

Once his family had become preoccupied for a bit- Auston packed up their things and got dressed. Pulling on a tank top and some sandals. The sun had begun to set- leaving behind an array of orange and reds above the water. It was colder now which was a relief, spending an entire day in the sun with the rays reflecting off the ocean was a surefire way to get a sun burn and heat exhaustion.

When he had gotten everything put away, Y/N came jogging over- now wearing one of his sweaters and some denim shorts. She had on her basic white trainers which she seemed to pair with every outfit and her hair had been let out of its bun, beauty waves cascading past her jawline. "Hey- can we get some ice cream and walk along the pier before we head back to the villa?" She asked softly, she had her wallet in her hands and a bounce in her step.

At the mention of the sweet cold treat, Auston couldn't help but cave. "Yeah- But I'm paying." He answered, linking their hands together and walking towards the family- after they said goodbye, he started to swing their arms- already feeling like a weight was off his shoulders. While being around his family was amazing- sometimes he needed some time alone, which they understood- the constant pressures of having to perform well was hard enough as it is, add in clingy family members and eventually Auston would break.

But they seemed to understand the balance of when to see him and when not to- Y/N did too. She didn't run after him if he had a bad game, she gave him space when he was sick but she was always there as soon as he needed her- and in return, he did the same for her. Whether it be a shoulder to cry on after a bad day at work, or a series of cuddles when she was having cramps- he did whatever he could for her.

The transition from sand to hard ground under their feet brought Auston back from his headspace, a soft hum of music could be heard in the distance which he assumed was from a street performer. A few strings of lights were above them- tied to lamp poles around the pier, it was beautiful and sent a sense of relaxation washing over him.

Y/N's grip in his palm was perfect and he could feel it tighten slightly as they approached the Ice cream stand- he chuckled, she was always excited about child like things. It was adorable and he couldn't ask for more. Upon getting their ice cream, Y/N's in a cone while his was in a cup- he paid and they headed off for a quick walk. Just long enough to finish the treats and then arrive at the car.

There was a pleasant silence between them as they took in the view- they didn't get to relax very often which made this all the better. Knowing that once they got back to Toronto, it would be back to early morning practices and late nights at work. Auston wanted to cherish the moment, even if it was only temporary.

"Promise me we'll do this again?" Y/N spoke up, swinging their arms back and forth as they approached the car- throwing the garbage into the trash that was close to the rental car, Auston furrowed his brows. "Go on vacation?" He asked- not entirely sure he was understanding her request.

Shaking her head, Y/N walked towards him and wrapped her arms around his waist- standing on her tip toes and kissing his lips. "Take a break..." She answered him. "I like seeing you happy- and you're always happiest when were with your family..." she mentioned. The man chuckled softly and pressed her against the food of the car delicately. Their hips pressed together and his arms around her waist.

"You make me happy.." His tone was genuine, not a single hint of sarcasm or dishonesty laced within. "Im happiest when I have you... and Thats never gonna change."
