Chapter 28: Where It all Goes Sour

Eren POV:

The week after I won my title, me and Annie went to watch the Southern Championship

Marco lost to a guy named Ollie Perkins in the semi finals

Jean fought the same guy and knocked him out in the second round, making Jean the U9- U13s Southern Heavyweight Champion

That means I'll only be able to fight Marco next year, if we end up fighting

The week after that, Reiner was fighting for the Paradis National Title

He beat Dragslav Sokolov in the Quarter Finals by second round knockout but lost to Chestibor Sokolov in the Semi Finals by split decision

Chestibor then lost to Max Payne by second round knockout in the final

Max Payne must be a beast Jesus Christ

The four of us all look pretty even in terms of record, except Bertholdt, who doesn't look as good:

I've been training as hard as possible but it seems like Shadis has been distant

I know he has to help the others but he's been concentrating on this new kid

He's a year younger than me and he's in the Cruiserweight division

He's been doing very well

His record is (15KOs) 15-0-0

All of his knockouts being in the first round, he also won the Shiganshina title in June

Shadis has barely been paying me attention and sometimes gets pissed off when I talk to him

I just shrug it off because I know he's proud of me and we have a really close relationship

It's late August right now and I've got a fight coming up soon

I don't know who I'm fighting yet, all I know is that they fought in the most recent Paradis National title

They have to be in my new weight class and age group though

I'm currently 125lbs and in the U14- U17s category

Meaning I'm a Featherweight

That leaves either Max Payne, Tijan Vroomen or Mahir Van As

I already beat Mahir so I assume it'll be one of the other two

I was going to fight Tijan before my injury so that makes the most sense

1 week later:

I was punching the heavy bag when I heard Shadis-

Shadis: "Jaeger. My office. Now"

I don't know why he was being so blunt but I followed him to his office anyway

I took a seat

Shadis: "You're fighting Max Payne in two weeks"

Eren: "What? I don't think I'm ready-"

Shadis: "Tough. You'll have to be"

Eren (under breath) : "Fucking prick"

Shadis: "What was that?"
