And when Millie smiled, that translated into Finn being happy.

She is about to quit the car but he holds her hand back, putting her into a halt.

"Finn?" She blinks. "What's wrong?"

She sees him biting his lips, clearly pondering about something.

With his fingers, he draws small circles on her wrist, "I was thinking that this is our second date. Like, an official second one."

Millie nods, growing red on her cheeks. Another date to add to the collection. It was weird to think about it, especially when she was this close to take an immediate distance from him some days before.

But the affection she has for him goes beyond any word of self-hatred. It goes beyond the scars she caused to his body. Millie can despise the consequences of her actions, her life, her past... but she can't despise Finn.

He was her one to heal.

"It seems like it, baby." She replies with a teasing smug, putting emphasis on the pet name that was growing on her each day passing by.

"Well, then, close your eyes."

She huffs impatiently. "Finn, seriously? We are going to be late!"

"The movie can wait, egghead. Come on, close your eyes." He prompts her again, and so she covers her face with two hands.

As she does that, she hears a rustle, something close to thin paper and other things she can't define. Only after a few seconds, Finn asks her to open her eyes again.

Her view hits a giant bouquet of white lily and daises, perfectly wrapped into brown paper and a white ribbon of silk. She can spot the name of the florist on it, one of the most famous in all Atlanta.

"You still love white lilies, right?" His heart pounds, handing the flowers to her. "The florist told me they mean reborn, purity... Couldn't be more fitting than now, don't you think?"

Millie finds herself wordless, holding the huge branch of flowers (her favorites since forever) with such delicacy as if she was lulling a baby in her arms. Her face sparkles in awe, and Finn is pretty sure he can see her eyes glow.

She looks so pretty with happiness on her. Her best accessory.

"Finnie..." She finally lets out, cheeks hurting for how much she is smiling. "Thank you, these are beautiful. I love white lily so much!"

"I am happy you like them. You have something of mine to decorate your room. So anytime you're lonely or make bad dreams, you can think of me."

At the sound of that, she stretches one arm out, hand carding his freckled cheek.

She closes her eyes, probably one second before he does too, gently touching his lips just like the first kiss they ever shared in Toronto, when he was asleep. She delivers all of her feelings in it, pressing all of her love in that tiny gesture.

She peppers her lips around his mouth, corners and cheeks, brushing it so softly it could be mistaken by a soft breeze.

When she pulls apart, and Finn's face grows wonderstruck. When he sees her at ease and content it's like the world gains another meaning.

"Damn, I should give you flowers more often."

Millie giggles, "And we should kiss more often."

"That is easily fixable." He smirks, leaning in and capturing her lips once again, running his digits through her hair in slow caresses. He savors the flavor of her mouth, soaking the sweetness of their kiss into his scent.
