minho heard someone call out on his way in the parking lot trying to find his car. he turned around and a frown was placed on his face seeing hyunjin's mother making her way towards him, youngmi standing a few feet behind her with head hung low.

❝ you know i dislike you a lot right? ❞
she asked with a raised brow, minho couldn't help but think this isn't the time for amusement but he didn't stop himself from giving her a little smile.
❝ i think it's pretty clear mrs. hwang, but i guess not everyone can be pleased. ❞
minho told her politely.

❝ i don't want you in my son's wedding, i just ripped you out the invites so don't even bother. you met my husband, our family isn't perfect but hyunjin dedicated his whole life trying to make him proud. this wedding is just as important to hyunjin just as it is to his father so i couldn't help but step in between him and you especially out of all people who tries to ruin it. ❞
she scoffed at him, minho could only sigh and frown at her, his eyes unreadable but guilt washed over his chest.
❝ hyunjin had invited me to the wedding, it would upset him if i wasn't there. ❞

❝ don't worry about that, you'll only make it worse for my son to go on with the wedding if you're there as a distraction. i hate to get involved with you really, but i'm doing this for the sake of my family and my dying husband, i hope you understand. ❞
she said in a bitter tone and minho clenched his fists.
❝ no mrs. hwang, i promised hyunjin i'd go and i'm going. ❞
he said with a stern voice.

she narrowed her eyes at him but soon a mischievous light sparkled in her eyes as she stared at minho.
❝ you're a stubborn one, it hurts me to blackmail. but a friend of yours has a secret the public doesn't know yet, dating another model of the same sexuality and pretending to have you as a boyfriend to save her career. your manager who's dating one of our employees in secret to save his image and your little model brother who is dating our family bodyguard. you don't know how much power i have even if i don't own this company or the industry it's in, i can ruin their lives they worked so hard for in this business and it will be all your fault. ❞

❝ you know mrs. hwang, you're just like your husband. ❞
minho forced a smile at her, pulling himself together when in all honesty he couldn't feel anything, as if his body was turning into jelly and he just wanted to melt in a puddle of resentment.
❝ fine, i won't go, all this you've set up just so that i won't be at the wedding flatters me. ❞
he chuckled but his heart was heavy.

❝ good, thankfully you're not that hard to make a deal out of. ❞
she smiled and turned her back at him, starting to walk away and minho could only stare at her with hatred.
❝ and don't worry about hyunjin, his life will go on perfectly even without you, surely with a pretty face like yours you can find someone else to slut around with. ❞
she laughed and ushered youngmi to go back in the company with her, leaving minho glaring at their direction with clenched fists.

youngmi looked back at him with sad eyes, glancing at the woman already making her way back in the building, she looked at minho again and smiled small.
❝ you'll find someone else minho, i'm sure you can, just please do as she says so no one gets hurt. ❞
she said sincerely giving an apologetic bow before walking back to catch up with hyunjin's mother.
❝ i.... ❞
she stopped again and minho glanced at her direction before he could've went back on his way to his car.
❝ i promise i'll be the best wife for hyunjin. ❞

❝ is this really what you wanted youngmi? ❞
he asked her, she balled her fists and turned to face him with a glare on her face but tears were streaming down her cheeks.
❝ it's the life they made me dream of since i was born! you don't understand it minho! all my life this is all i was meant to do and i hate how you and hyunjin are trying to ruin it! i lived a life i didn't want just for the day we'll get married and you came along crushing every bit of freedom and sacrifice i gave up to make my family proud! ❞
