She plastered a smile on her face and shook her head. "Nothing, everything's fine."

Edmund couldn't help but notice she was lying. He's done it before. To the other Slytherins, while he was at home. How are you? Fine. He knew she lied for a reason, though, and knew she wanted that reason to be a secret. "Well that's great. Want to head to the library to study?"

"The library?" she asked confused. "You realize it's like 3:30? I don't think you'd want your Slytherin friends to see us."

He gave a hurt expression. "What? Cassie I told you that I don't believe what they say anymore. We could go anywhere you'd like."

She shook her head as if to brush out a thought she had. "Want to play Quidditch? I know you're a Beater on the Slytherin team but we could make it work."

He smiled down at the girl. "Quidditch it is."

He quickly went to go change and they met back on the pitch. Cassie would throw the Quaffle to Edmund, he would pass it back to her, she would catch it then throw it through the hoops. They continued like this for an hour until Cassie began to feel sore.

"I'm sorry to end it soon but I can't feel my arms." she laughed.

"It's alright, I've got homework anyways. See ya 'round, Scamander."

"See ya Pevensie." she gave a small wave and made her way to the showers. Once she got dressed she was about to make her way back to her common room.

"Have you been playing Quidditch this whole time?" asked Harry surprisingly.

She nodded, "And I enjoyed every second of it." Cassie then flopped on the couch and noticed Ron eyeing her- she had enough.

"Ron I don't know what your problem is with me but if you don't stop giving me rude looks and comments then I'm mailing Mrs. Weasley." she said sternly.

Ron placed his hand over his chest. "Y-you wouldn't..."

"Oh, I would." Cassie told him.

"Fine, I don't like you being friends with a Slytherin- and frankly I think it's a fair argument. Mum wouldn't understand though.." he trailed off. "Fine I forgive you. But don't mention him at meals- I mean it."

She couldn't help but smile at his last remark. "Glad that's over."

The four of them sat in the common room doing their homework. Correction, Hermione was teaching Cassie how to knit while Ron and Harry were working on their homework. They were working on a Transfiguration and Astronomy essay Cassie had gladly finished the night before. She had Hermione go over them and give a correction or two, and called it a day on them.

Ginny had come down after a while and had a conversation with the girls while they were waiting for the boys to finish.

"Cassie, could you check our Astronomy?" asked Harry, handing her two papers. She nodded happily and took the essays.

"Ron, Jupiter's biggest moon is Ganymede instead of Callisto." Cassie said, She then pointed at a certain line. "And it's Io that has all the volcanoes."

"Thanks." snarled Ron, scratching out the sentences.

"You asked-"

"Well that's why I said thanks-"

"Ron-" said Hermione.

"Not now-"

"No- look!"

A handsome screech owl was standing on the windowsill on the nearest window, fixing its gaze on Ron.

"Isn't that Hermes?" asked Hermione, sounding amazed.

"Blimey, it is! What's Percy writing to me for?" Ron asked, getting to his feet.

Ron opened the window and the owl flew inside and landed on Ron's essay, perching it's leg to expose an attached letter.

"Open it!" said Hermione eagerly.

Ron unrolled the scroll and his eyes scanned the letter, looking disgusted at the end. He threw the letter at the other three in the room to read- it was a disgusting letter.

"Well," said Harry, "if you want to- er- what is it?" —he checked Percy's letter—"Oh yea, 'sever ties' with me, I swear I won't get violent."

"Give it back." said Ron sternly, holding his hand out. Once the letter was in arm's reach, Ron snatched it and tore it to pieces- throwing the old letter into the fire. "He is the world's biggest git."

He then breathed in and out for a couple of seconds. "C'mon, let's finish this before dawn." he said to Harry, pulling the Transfiguration essays closer.

"Oh give them here." said Hermione. "Cassie can continue to check your Astronomy ones."

Ron and Harry smiled brightly at the two of them.

They continued to work with the reminders of "you truly are the most wonderful people I've ever met" and "don't let me be rude to you guys ever again".

"Ron write this down, and then add this conclusion I've written." said Cassie, handing him a new piece of paper with three inches of writing. "Harry yours is okay except I think you misheard the professor- Europa's covered in ice not mice- Harry?"

Harry was now sliding off his chair and crouched, looking into the flames of the fire.

"Why are you down there?" asked Cassie.

"I've just seen Sirius's head in the fire." said Harry calmly.

"Sirius!" said Hermione, pointing to the fire. In the middle of the dancing flames sat Sirius's long hair and grinning face.

"I was scared you'd gone off to bed." he said. "I've been checking once every hour."

"Every hour?" Harry said, half laughing.

"Just for a few seconds to see if the coast was clear. This is the only way I could come up with of answering Harry without resorting to a code- and codes are unbreakable."

The five talked for ten minutes or so and decided to call it a rest. They were assured Sirius was safe and that's all that mattered.
