I groan softly as I sit up on my bed, my alarm clock going off on my bedside table.

I sigh softly as I turn it off, going to get dressed.

After brushing my hair and teeth, I grab my book bag and make my way into the kitchen, opening the fridge for something to eat.

“Good morning, Trollhunter.” I cry out in surprise and turn around, noticing Draal standing beside the counter.

“What are you doing here?!” I ask him worriedly. “If my mom sees you, we’ll both be…”

“Relax, Fleshbag. I came over when I saw your fleshbag mother leave with her friends.” He explains.

I sigh softly in relief and go to pour myself a bowl of cereal.

“Well, I can’t stay for long. I have school.” I tell him, taking a bite from my bowl.

He huffs slightly and walks over.

I shift nervously and take a step away from him.

“You seem bothered by something, Trollhunter.” He says.

“I…” I look up at him nervously. “If I’m being honest, I am.” I sigh.

“Tell me, what has you so perturbed?”

“Well… you know how you asked me who I liked the other day, and I said no one?” I ask him.

He nods slightly.

“Well, as it turns out, I do actually like someone.” I tell him softly.

“Well, that is great news Trollhunter!” He smiles, patting my back. “You should tell the lucky warrior before another does.”

I laugh nervously and move away from him.

“Well, it’s not that easy, Draal.” I tell him.

“Why not?” He questions.

“Well, for one, we’re not…” I glance at him. “The same species.” I finish.

He quirks an eyebrow at me. “You like… a troll?” He asks.

I nod my head.

“Well, that should not stop you from telling him. You wouldn’t be the first human to have mated with a troll.” The blue troll explains as his gaze lands on a bunch of cooking utensils.

“Well, this particular troll didn’t really like humans until a few months ago. And…” I pause for a moment, staring down at my almost untouched cereal bowl. “And I don’t know if he ever got over Nomura…” I finish softly.

I slowly look up at Draal, who had a confused look on his face. His eyes suddenly widen in realization as he looks down at me.

We both stood there in a tense silence before I spoke.

“Oh, would you look at the time! Well, I had better be off!” I say quickly, grabbing my book bag before walking towards the door.

“Trollhunter, I…”

“See you after school Draal!” I shout, cutting the troll off as I walk out of my house, closing the door behind me.

I sigh softly as I gently grab my forehead.

“Astrid, you truly are an idiot.” I tell myself, walking in the direction of the school.

“War is constant chaos. The winner will be the one who controls the chaos both his own and his enemy’s." Strickler says, smiling at the half asleep class as he changes the slide. “Napoleon’s words show an unquenchable need for conquest. A man who could not be stopped.” He continues, changing the slide again. “So, what was the French general’s downfall? Did he stare down the barrel of a cannon?”
