Chapter 77

As Liam drove them to the St. Mary's Liv couldn't help but wince as Autumn squeezed her hand. "Autumn, damn it do you have to squeeze my hand so hard?" she asked her friend as she shook her hand after Autumn let it go.

The glare she got made Liv decide that keeping her mouth shut would be the best idea at this point. It rivalled the glares Liv managed to give on her bad days. "St. Mary's right?" Liam asked as he drove them through London.

"Yes, where else." Autumn snapped, rubbing her bump. Liv couldn't help but turn her head to the side in amusement, how could she not? Autumn normally was the sweetest person there was, seemed labour brought the beast out in her.

The drive to the Lindo wing was not too long much to Liv's relief as she helped Autumn out the Range Rover with Mia, who'd parked the car behind theirs.

"Liv maybe you shouldn't stay here," Liam suggested as they stepped into the labour ward. She understood where he was coming from, but this was a private hospital. Kate had given birth here twice, surely it was safe enough for her to stay there and be with her friend.

She wasn't planning on leaving her friend's side so she turned to Liam. "I'm not leaving her Liam," she told him with a tone that warned him that she wasn't going to budge on this. She was going to stay there till the baby was born and that was final.

Autumn had been put in a wheelchair as they made their way up to the upper level where the labour rooms were. The nurse on the labour ward put her in her own room. "And?" Liv whispered to Mia since she was going to call Jake about the impending birth of his son.

"He's on his way, but he's three hours away from London," Mia informed her as she scrunched face up. She knew why Jake was three hours away and autumn's contractions were less than ten minutes apart. They all hoped that he would make it in time.

"Is he on his way?" Autumn asked from her spot on the bed where the nurse was attaching an IV bag. "Yes, but he's still three hours away from here," Mia told Autumn. "I know," she said before adding through gritted teeth. "He better makes it in time here."

Liv hoped for Jake's sake that he was indeed on time for the birth or there would be hell to pay.

"We'll wait outside." Mia, Liv and Jens said when her OB arrived to check with her. "Please, can one of you stay with me?" Autumn asked, looking at her two female friends most importantly. "I'll stay," Liv said, knowing Mia wasn't too good with all of that stuff and then again, Liv managed to stay calm in any situation.

walking back to her friend, Autumn took her hand as the doctor asked her all sorts of things, checked her and measured how far along she was in labour.

"And?" Jens and Mia asked as they came back in the room after making sure the coast was clear. "Five centimetres." Autumn, noted moving out of her bed. "Where are you going?" Jens asked as he walked up to Autumn and supported her by the arm. From the four of them, yes had an almost sibling relationship, close-knit. But then it was Autumn and Jens, Mia and Liv. They had their own buddy within in their own made family.

"I'm going to walk around, the said I could and the gravity will help." Autumn snapped at them and they all decided that just going along and keeping their mouth shut was to the best of their interest. Liv joined Autumn on her other side to push the IV pole with her and Mia took the other side of Autumn so Jens and Mia were supporting her. Mia and Liv switching every so few rounds of walking up and down the hallway.

"You mind if I call Harry, He'll worry if someone tells him I'm here and he doesn't know why," Liv told Mia after an hour of walking up and down the hallway. Autumn wasn't letting up, she was convinced to do this birth naturally. A promise of a sort that Liv, Mia and Autumn made to each other. From their health class, they'd learned the benefits and such of birth. Those long and sometimes too much information lessons did tell them a lot and they were grateful for it.
