There wasn't a lot of time for making friends in the hospital. As a nurse, you were constantly busy and, by the time your shift was over, you just wanted to sleep. However, there was one place you could go to relax a moment and possibly make friends. The on call room. That was where you met Fili and Kili.

The three of you worked in different departments of the hospital, but somehow, you almost always ended up in the on call room around the same time. Today was no different. Kili was already there when you walked in. You gave him a smile as you plopped down in a chair. "Where's Fee?" you asked. The blond brother had insisted on the nickname from almost the moment you'd met.

"He went to get coffee. How's your shift going?" You groaned loudly. You worked in the pediatric department and a lot of children got very cranky when they didn't feel well. Not to mention the fact that your scrubs where covered in spit up from the babies you helped with. Kili laughed and stretched out his legs as the door opened to reveal Fili. With a smile, he handed you a cup. "Bless you."

Coffee was one of the first things you bonded over with the brothers. You talked about all the different types and flavors and from there the conversation rabbit trailed. You found that you had a lot of similar interests as Fili and Kili and the three of you became fast friends.

"So what's the topic of conversation today?" Fili asked. Kili shrugged. "I don't know. Y/N just got here." You rolled your eyes. "Okay. Relationships. I think it's the only thing we really haven't talked about." A glimmer of mischief appeared in Kili's eyes. "Right. So, are you seeing anyone, Y/N?" You felt your skin heat up. Why had you picked that topic?

"Uh, I meant that we should talk about your relationship, Kee. When are you going to propose to Tauriel?" Kili's jaw dropped and then snapped shut again, making you and Fili laugh. Kili had been planning to propose for a long time, but had yet to work up the courage.

Kili cleared his throat and changed the subject. "So, I have Saturday off this weekend." You and Fili smiled and informed him that you both did too. You all exchanged a look. All of you having the same day off was rare. Kili beamed. "So, my place? Video game marathon?" You laughed. That was another thing the three of you bonded over. There was nothing quite like being with your best friends while they played video games. Sometimes you'd play too, other times, you'd sit and read. You just enjoyed spending time with them.

"Sounds good, but I'll have to cut out early. I've got a date." A sly grin made its way onto Kili's face. "OOOOH! It's about time! How long has it been?" You punched him in the arm. "Ow." You laughed. "Serves you right. It's none of your business." Kili pouted a little. "You're no fun. You never tell us anything." Fili smirked. "Y/N tells me everything." Kili opened his mouth to argue, but his pager went off.

He cursed under his breath. "To be continued," he warned as he left the room. The door closed and you breathed a sigh of relief. From next to you, you heard Fili mutter, "Finally." The next moment, you felt yourself being pulled into his arms. His lips were on yours in a second, making you chuckle. You kissed him back quickly. You loved stolen moments like this.

"Are we ever gonna tell him?" you asked softly when you parted. Fili shrugged a little. "He'll figure it out eventually." You laughed again. "Now, I think we can sneak in a few more kisses before I have to go back for my rounds." Fili leaned in for another kiss when the door opened.

"Oh, Mahal!" Kili stood in the doorway, his jaw dropped in shock. You and Fili dissolved in a fit of laughter. "Told you he'd figure it out." Kili just stood there with the door open. "How long?" You looked to Fili. He could handle his brother. "A few months. Kili stared in disbelief. "How did I not know about this?!" You didn't get a chance to answer before, from behind Kili, someone called out, "THAT'S NOT WHAT THE ON CALL ROOM IS FOR!" Once again, laughter filled the room.
