Poetry: The Truth Of My Heart And My Mind

I Can Now Smile

When all my bad memories go away,

I feel like I can finally breathe,

I can smell the air like I've never done before,

I can finally escape the doom,

I can now look up,

see what I've missed,

I can hold up without a doubt,

life has never been been so good,

now I can finally speak,

speak the truth,

without hiding a word,

I can finally throw away all the lies,

my family may know about my troubles,

they don't know about my thoughts,

when it's time,

I'll tell them,

when it's right,

then that's the moment,

finally I can smile,

uncovering my inner demons,

throw away my shame,

push away my sorrow,

let my soul be free,

now I can taste the honey,

the honey,

of life so sweet,

enough have I done of my weep,

now is not the time to sleep,

upset,

showing someone I do care,

showing my emotions I hid so deep,

not pretending I'm tough,

that was way too rough
