Fresh and clean. That's what you told yourself as you brushed your teeth,  brushed your hair, and got dressed the next morning. It was go time. Time to show General Hux just what he was missing- and show him just what a good assistant you could be, or course. You dressed yourself in a professional yet functional coat and pants, both of which were black, and a tough sort of denim-esque fabric, which lent itself to physical activity if needed. A good number of precisely placed pockets covered the jacket, and you left your top two buttons undone- keeping up with your signature look. Your boots were simple, black leather. You were ready for battle. So off to Hux's office you went.
When Hux looked up at you from his clipboard, you could've sworn his jaw dropped.
"Oh, uh, Officer [y/n]! I did.. not expect you to come in so early."
You smiled.
"You never did specify a time, General. I figured it best to be punctual."
The flustered Hux quite liked this ideology, enough to straighten himself out and get on with the task at hand.
"Right," he said, "Well, as I previously stated, you are to assist me with a plethora of menial tasks. That is what a good assistant does, after all. So first, first first first..."
He looked to his clipboard.
"Ah yes! First, you will help me plot a course through an asteroid belt a few systems away."
"A few systems? You plan these maneuvers that far in advance?"
Hux raised a brow.
"Would you consider that poor strategy, Officer?" he spat.
"No," you said, "I actually think it's admirable. I will get to it right away, General."
Hux sighed to himself, cursing your sheet realism. He was so uptight all the time, and yet you managed to not be. At least, not on the outside.
As soon as Hux turned to file a few weapons plans, you sat down at the chair at the desk beside his and began plotting the course. You were not normally one for cartography, but the map was rather self explanatory to follow, and you knew logically- from a programming standpoint- which pathway would be best for the Finalizer.
"Is this okay, General?" You asked softly, and he nearly leapt from his chair. He came over to the desk where you were sitting and took a good look at the starmap.
            "It's... well, perfect, actually."
You couldn't help but blush as his hand made its way across yours to point to a certain pathway on the map.
"See here? This move is something I doubt I would think of. And you did it on the first try- impressive."
The General would have sounded bitter or angry, if you hadn't felt his hand, which shook ever so gently in uncertainty. Hux was nervous.
"I didn't think it was correct, General," you said, "But I figured it would get the ship through the path without room for overshoot in the trajectory."
You were beginning to turn your own hand around to intertwine with his- a risky move, but you did it nonetheless.
"Yes yes, I see," he said. "You've done a wonderful job, [y/n]".
Slowly but surely, the General squeezed your hand in his. For some reason, you thought that might have been the most intimate thing you'd ever done.
"Thank you, General," you nearly whispered, "I tried my best."
By then, the two of you were so close, hand on hand, bodies too close for comfort, faces only inches apart. There was an odd, sensual silence, and it was then you began to feel a bit tingly. Hux's icy eyes bored into you and- he was impressed. You began breathing heavy, and you could almost...
Almost...
"General Hux, I have a question for you about Kylo Ren's-"
It was Officer Brent who barged into Hux's office without so much as a knock, and you and the General fell apart as soon as the door swung open. Despite Brent's oblivious chit-chat, you could see the red flush in Hux's face, and couldn't help but grin. You were already winning.
