It's a blessing
In my eyes
When people say goodbye
In my culture
There is no such word
In their language
They end the conversation with a click of the phone
No goodbyes
No salutations
Not even a hello
The call is for importance
No laughing
No pain
Merely passing information from one location to the next
In my eyes
As an American
It does hurt to say goodbye
But even the words
"I love you"
Must be tried
Words are mere documents
Not occations
Not emotions
When my mother is on the phone
She knows she must say she loves me
At first when I introduced it when she was about to hang up
She said
Son, nonsense
Love isn't something you say
It's something you show
But it's still an assurance
To hear it is so sweet
The same goes for good byes,
Saluting, and a small greeting

Response To: "Arrivals" - MicahMackey
You don't have to respond to these. I'm reading your poetry so I'm responding to it since I'm bored. However, when people say Mr. unless it's spelled out as Mister. The dot is there to represent shorting so when you say Mrs Hughes it should be Mrs. Hughes same for Mr. Thomas. It's up to you to change it though since it doesn't change the meaning to the poem. Great work though, I like your style :)
