Whispering
I whisper
As the night goes on
In the dark
The pitch black consumes my heart
As a fallen
Unknown to what may become
Of the pure
And insane part of me overcomes
What sanity I have left
The whispers
Have they won?
In the light
The next morning
My tainted heart has begun
To beat
In my shell
Protected from the light
But then she whispers
Come back to me
I am shaken
What is this fright
She is my light
From the inside
My heart starts to fail
She whispers again
"My knight"
"You must prevail"
Suddenly, my heart stops
My breath it weakens
But I begin to feel the purity mask the tainted
My heart
It begins
To fight once more
Against the doubt
Against my weakness
I have prevailed
Against the whispers
In the dark
The ones that remind me
That I am alone
That I am binded
But she is my weapon
My whisper
My love
For she saves me from the darkness
Those whispers that never give up.

Response To: "Whispers In The Dark" By MicahMackay
**Hope you don't mind me reading your poetry and then making a reply to it. I see this as a way to improve my own poetry. Your poem was interesting and I liked it. The last three lines didn't make sense to me until I made this in response. Voted for your poem because it's awesome. Great work.
