I uploaded a new video on my channel so go watch that right now. My YouTube name is Kween Kimi. Go watch, like, comment and subscribe on that.

This is a quick update on appropriating African culture. Now I honestly don't know about this bc I didn't even know it was an issue. But it makes sense.

And btw, I do understand that Africa is a continent and you can't group them all together like they are the same thing. However, I am not familiar with the different types of African cultures, so out of respect, I will just use the general term "African." I don't want to sound stupid or offend one's culture.

As you guys know, there has always been some tension between Africans and black Americans. They don't want to be associated with us, and some of us don't want to be associated with them. Some black Americans don't like to be called "African Americans" bc they're not truly African.

Okay, no cooning but I understand that. It kinda irritates me when someone tries to like, throw their "knowledge" on me and tell me which part of Africa I'm from.

Bitch how would you know if I don't even know? 🤔 sit tf down. But I do acknowledge the fact that there is obviously some sort of African ancestory in me bc I am black.

Some of these black Americans don't want to be associated with Africans, however they wear dashiki and do other things that correlates with African culture.

Shit I would be mad if I were them too. Like how the hell you don't like us but use our culture? Y'all complain when them white folks do it but when y'all do it, y'all on hush mode. ☕️

But nah this whole whites stealing from black culture is totally different. I understand that. It stems from a lot of shit and has hella history behind it. I follow. I'm just saying the whole stealing thing is a similarity.

Personally I don't wear dashiki or whatever, but I do appreciate some of the traditions. Even without realizing what I am doing, I am taking from African culture. Plus a lot of African influence are still practiced today in the United States.

I actually appreciate African culture. Some rather prefer to be called "black" and not African American and vice versa. I call myself black bc I feel it's the true definition that defines me, but it's all lowkey the same thing.
