Ch. 9: Werewolf Bite and Secret Revealed

I wake up and see Niklaus standing next to me. I groan and sit up.

I ask,"What happened?"

He says,"You were shot with a vervain dart. I drove us back to New Orleans."

I ask,"Where are we?"

Niklaus says,"We are in Covington actually."

I say,"We actually needed to stay in New York."

Niklaus says,"I didn't know. I'm sorry."

I say,"No. No. It's ok."

Niklaus says,"I will drive us back in the morning."

I get out of the bed and stand up. I collapse and cry out in pain. Niklaus comes to me and helps me into a sitting position. I look down at the bite wound and see that it hasn't healed. Niklaus sees it and pulls me onto his lap.

He asks,"Why didn't you tell me?"

I say,"I saw it heal. I thought the rumor was just that. A rumor."

Niklaus says,"I know that it is not a rumor. I can help you."

I say,"Niklaus you can't help me. I am going to die. There's no cure for a werewolf bite."

He says,"I know the cure for it."

I ask,"What is it?"

He says,"My blood."

I nod as I feel blackness start taking over again.

Niklaus says,"Turn and feed on me."

I say,"I can't. I need to sleep."

Niklaus turns and bites his wrist. He presses it against my mouth and I drink. I feel my fangs come out and slide into his wrist. Niklaus gasps and I feel my strength return. I feel the wound heal. I pull away and he heals. I look at him in a different light.

I say quietly,"You saved my life."

Niklaus smiles and says,"I did."

I feel something burst inside me and I look into his eyes.

I say,"I don't know if I can ever repay you."

Niklaus says,"I don't want you to repay me, love."

Niklaus looks into my eyes and I lean in. Niklaus leans in and presses his lips gently against mine. We pull away and I look in his eyes searching. He does the same to me. I press my lips against his and he wraps his arms around me. He slides his tongue across my bottom lip and I open letting him in. my hands go to his hair and I pull away. I lean my forehead against his and he looks me in the eyes. I smile and so does he.
