Shawn's POV

I felt so ashamed. I had cheated on my girlfriend, Hanna. I didn't know what I was thinking, my intentions weren't to hurt her the way I did.

I tried to apologise to her, but she completely ignored me, as I expected her to, and hasn't spoke to me since.

I called her number on my phone for the 20th time tonight, and I got the same message from the answer phone.

"Hey, sorry I couldn't take your call, I'm probably busy watching some strange but addicting show, but anyways I'll call you back."

I let out a frustrated scream and threw my phone against the wall, causing the whole device to break into two.

I slumped back down on this random step I was sitting on, lifting up the bottle of vodka next to me to take a swig.

I knocked it back, my mouth twitching with disgust afterwards. This tasted horrible, but it seemed to be the only way to take my pain.

"You okay?" A small voice spoke behind me, causing me to jump a little and turn my head in the direction where it came from.

It was a girl, around my age, wrapped in an oversized jacket.

"Not really." I mumbled back, turning my head back around. I'm not really in the mood to talk.

"You want to explain what your doing on my front porch drinking vodka and sulking at midnight?" She said, adding a soft chuckle afterwards.

"Why should I tell you? I don't know who you are." I grumbled.

"I don't know you either, but you look like you need to talk to someone. You shouldn't drink away your feelings." She smiled softly.

I felt her presence next to me, and she took a seat on the step. She seemed genuine so I held back the urge to tell her to stay out of my business, and also I felt the need to explain myself.

After all, I was sitting at the front of her house.

"I'm (Y/N)."

"Shawn." I replied plainly.

"So Shawn, wanna tell me what's wrong?" She said sweetly.

"I did something bad, and now my girl- ex girlfriend has been avoiding me." I sighed, taking another swig of the vodka in my hands.

"You should probably slow down with the vodka." She chuckled, before adding. "But maybe she has her reasons for ignoring you like she is. I'm sure it wasn't that bad enough for her to completely block you out."

"I slept with her best friend, and she walked in on us." I mumbled, keeping my gaze on the night sky.

My reply made her grow quiet, and I turned my head to her. She was pretty, I can admit, but I had way more things to think about.

"Then she has every right to be upset with you. Maybe you should just give her time, and if she knows you truly didn't mean it then she'll come around. If you truly love someone, you'll give them a second chance." She rambled.

"You know, you give good advice." I slightly chuckled, looking over to her.

"Well, I try." She giggled, pulling on the sleeves of her jacket.

"Well, it's kinda cold out here. If you want you can come in for a while, and warm up? I can drive you home afterwards." She smiled politely.

I thought about it for a while, it might help me with trying to get Hanna out of my mind. "Are you sure?"

"I wouldn't of asked if I wasn't, would I?" She joked, as I chuckled in reply. I guess she's nicer than I thought.

---------------
(2 years later)

"Baby, I'm home!" I shouted, walking into mine and (Y/N)'s home. I had moved on from Hanna, and I was now dating the woman who helped me through everything.

She was so sweet and caring, which is why I fell in love with her. She let me in when I had nobody, she helped me through it all. She knew what mistakes I had made, and she didn't judge me for it.

Even though I've moved on, I still have guilt eat me inside for what I did to Hanna, I was so immature and stupid. But I've changed now, for the better.

"Hello!" (Y/N) sang, running up to me. I smiled at her and wrapped my arms around her waist.

"I missed you today." I pouted, pulling away from the hug to see her face.

"I missed you more. And, because I love you, I have picked out a load of movies for us to watch!" She squealed from excitement.

I bit my lip, staring at the beauty stood in front of me. She is so amazing, I couldn't wish for anyone better.

I hated myself for the way I hurt Hanna, but if I hadn't done what I did then I never would've met (Y/N).

"Sounds great!" I giggled, placing a gentle kiss on her lips.

"Then what are we doing still standing here? Let's watch some movies!" She shouted, whilst dragging me into the living room.

We sat on the couch, as she snuggled up closer to my side. My whole life sitting right next to me.
