Shawn's POV

One year later...

I sat in the drivers seat of my car, watching
(y/n) walk over to the bench in the park, whilst holding her new boyfriends hand.

She laughed at something he had said, causing me to clutch my fist in anger. She looked so happy with him, and I could only wish for that to be us.

He made her smile, as he held her cheek and pulled her in for a kiss. I squeezed my eyes shut, I couldn't bare to look at them any longer.

I was so stupid to do that to her, I can never forgive myself for hurting her like that. I hesitantly opened my eyes, to see them pull away, with a big smile on her face.

I felt so jealous of him, but it suddenly hit me. I've never seen her smile so much, when she is with him, she always looks so happy. Just like she was with me. I really wanted to go over there and punch the living shit out of her new boyfriend, but she is in love, and I don't want to cause her any more pain than I already have.

A tear rolled down my cheek, only for me to quickly wipe it away. This is what I did every Friday, I would park up my car next to the park, and watch her and her boyfriend eat ice cream and kiss each other passionately.

It sounds creepy, I know. But trust me, if you were madly in love with someone as much as I am, you would understand. Seeing the person you love look so happy is such an amazing feeling, even though I want to be the one to bring her happiness.

Just seeing her smile would bring me joy, but I took advantage of that. And because of that I never get to be woken up by her elegant features anymore.

I watch her kiss her boyfriend goodbye, before he separated from her and began walking another way. She sat back on the bench, smiling widely.

I sigh heavily, before stepping out of my car and locking it. I secretly followed her boyfriend, making sure to keep some distance.

As he turned around the corner, I quickened my pace and I roughly grabbed him by the collar, pinning him up against the wall.

"Ow! What the hell. Who are you?" He shouted, trying to pry my hands off of him, which failed terribly.

"You don't need to know that, now, Listen. I've never seen (y/n) so happy with anyone, and if you dare try to crush that, you won't be alive for much longer, got it?" He nodded his head vigorously, before I carried on speaking.

"You make her happy, and I'm grateful that you can give her happiness. I don't know if you knew this but she has been through so much, and she doesn't deserve to be hurt again. So if you ever try something on her, I won't think twice about killing you." I spat, causing him to gulp visibly.

"I-I wont hurt her, I w-wouldn't dream of it." He stuttered, obviously frightened by me.

"Good. Now, you better keep that promise." I let go of the collar of his shirt, not before giving him a little push into the wall to show him I wasn't joking.

"S-Shawn." I heard a familiar, shaken voice from behind me, causing my whole body to stiffen.

I slowly turn around, (y/n)'s body came into view. My breath hitched, she still looked as beautiful as ever.

"(Y/n)." My voice was barely above a whisper.

By now her boyfriend was standing next to her with his hand on her shoulder. "Come on babe, lets go."

"I'll catch up with you in a minute." She mumbled. He looked a bit hesitant, but she gave him a weak reassuring smile.

He soon walked off, just leaving me and (y/n) alone.

"Did you really mean all of that?" She spoke, breaking the silence that filled the air.

"Of course I did, (y/n)." I sighed.

"Well, thank you for caring Shawn, but he won't hurt me." She replied, keeping a strong gaze on the floor.

"I was just making sure. You been through enough already." My reply made her look up at me, and gave me a small smile.

"I still love you." I blurted out, my eyes quickly widening at the words that came out of my mouth.

She sighed, shaking her head. "I-I loved you too. Some part of me still does. But I have moved on now, Shawn. And I think you should too."

Her words made my heart sting a little, but I knew she was right. I have caused too much damage, up to the point where it's unfixable. She is finally happy, and I can't ruin that for her. (I'm not tryna, ruin your happiness!)

"I understand." I nodded. Even though I said that, my words felt so forced.

She smiled, before stepping closer to me and caressed my face, tilting my head to the side and placing a soft kiss on my cheek.

A tingling sensation erupted throughout my body at her actions.

"Goodbye, Shawn." She whispered, pulling her hand away from my cheek.

"Goodbye, (y/n)." My vision became blurry from tears, as I watched her walk away, her figure getting smaller and smaller.

I touched my cheek with my finger, still feeling a slight tingle still lingering in the spot she kissed me.

I guess now the only thing I can do is to move on. As much as It pained me to do so, I had to.
For her.
