Safe place

Here I sit in my safe place. The only place I feel safe in, the only place I feel like I'm not being watched or teased.

My hole life I had been bullied by kids at my school. They teased me and hit me and told me I was unwanted and ugly, I believed every word that came out of their mouths.

I felt like no one cared or loved me, until Shawn came along.

He made me feel loved, like I was the most important person in the world. He always helped me through it, told me that I was strong.

Shawn always protected me, but the worst thing was that we didn't go to the same school. Whenever I needed him most, he wasn't there.

Whenever they hit me at school and I came home covered in cuts and bruises, he always blamed it on himself for not being there to protect me.

I breathed in the warm fresh air that consumed me, forgetting about every negative thing in my life. My feet dangling on the edge of the bridge.

I need to get out of this place.

And that's what I did, I made a jump for it. I finally felt free, like an angel flying through the sky. It felt good, to be able to leave and never turn back.

I just wish that I could say goodbye to the one person who actually cared for be before I left.
