Niall's POV:

~ TWO DAYS LATER ~

She shouldn't have cheated on me, let alone with that smelly bastard, Chris!

Yes, smelly bastard. I haven't slept well since the fight, the armchair in my living room isn't as comfortable as you'd think.

So, of course, my insults aren't up to par.

Two nights ago, after IT happened, I'd actually grabbed the promise ring from the bin. I may be naïve but I still hoped we'd make up.

First, though, she majorly needed to apologize, and stop fucking avoiding me.

There, there's a curse word for ya!

Cara really did need to not bark at me every time I walked in the room.

Frankly, this shit is getting annoying.

I trudged up the million flights of stairs to my apartment, too frustrated to wait for the elevator.

Work today had been fine.

And by fine, I really mean that the only good part about it is that Chris didn't show up, again.

I felt as if everybody whispered about me when I walked past.

Maybe it was the dark circles under my eyes, or possibly the fact that I was continuously gulping coffee from the brewing stand in the floor's lobby, by the receptionist's desk.

It could even be the fact that I clomped around and ignored everything people said to me.

The whispering still unnerved me.

And, of course, to top my B-E-A-utiful day off I got called into one of my superior's offices.

Dragged, more like it.

"Mr. Horan, your behaviour today has been unacceptable. Ignoring your coworkers! Are you deaf, lad?"

"N-no, sir," I said, nervous from the presence of someone who could potentially fire me and maybe, kinda, sorta, possibly, jittery from the 10 cups of high caffeine coffee I'd slurped on all day.

Mmm, I need to get my own coffee machine.

Snap out of it, Niall!

"It won't h-happen again sir, I promise."

He glanced over at my missing promise ring and my mug of coffee.

"Girlfriend?" he smirked.

"Don't you know it," I sighed, pinching the soft bit of my nose in between my eyes to try to make my growing headache subside.

"And you're still at work?" I nodded tenderly in answer. "Good bloke, you are."

"Tha-ank you sir." My superior - Mr. Liam Payne, as it said on the plaque on his desk and outside his door - gave me a long look before stating,

"No more coffee," and picking up my mug to empty the contents into the rubbish bin.

"The coffee drinking, no sleep? This is absolute tosh, all of it. Talk to her, or try. It's really draining you, and I can't have a drained man working here and getting paid."

Oh, great, so now he's threatening me with my job? Perfect.

So it was either put on an act and still be a burnt man on the inside, or make up with her and it won't be an act.

I vote option two, please.

~

I took the bus home, put my promise ring on and decided to sort things out with Cara.

"I'm home." I said and took my shoes off, leaving them by the door. I strolled into the kitchen and saw Cara doing the dishes.

"We need to talk," I took a few steps to get close to her, looking straight into her eyes.

"Ok," she sat on the couch and I followed.

"Do you love me?" I asked straight forwardly.

"Yes. I really, truly do love you."

"Do you love Chris?"

"No. Definitely not."

"Whatcha kiss 'em for then? And you only kissed right? You didn't have sex with him?"

"Oh God no. Just a kiss I swear in the Holy Bible. I'm being truthful here, he practically forced me into the kiss, I was also drunk. He's wrecking this relationship and we can't let that continue."

"Yeah. We can't let that continue. I'm sick and tired of it and my back and arse does be killing me, from sleeping on that poxy chair." I pointed at the armchair on my left side.

"That was really considerate of you for letting me stay in your bed. I'm sorry, Niall and I love you so much."

I've been dying to hear those words for so long.

"I love you too. C'mere and give daddy some sugar." I joked and pulled her into a hug on top of me.

"I've missed your hugs terribly," she murmured into my neck before kissing me. I pulled back and licked my lips, liking the taste.

"You wearing lip bam?" I wondered.

"Strawberry," she smiled sweetly.

"It's nice, kiss me again." I said and she did.

"I'm gonna make tea," she made her way into the kitchen.

"Two sugars for me," I held up two fingers. I smiled to myself and advanced towards her. "How's the baby in there?" I bent down and pressed my ear to her stomach.

"I'm not even a week pregnant, babe," she laughed and lifted my head up to kiss me.

"When do we get to find out if it's a boy or a girl?" I wondered, removing the annoying tie from my neck.

"I'm not sure, maybe a few months. I don't wanna leave it as a surprise because we need to get stuff for the baby. 'Cause what if it's a boy and we get girl stuff or it's a girl and we get boy stuff, you know?"

"Yeah,"

"We should plan a holiday to Italy for a few days. You have to meet my parents,"

"Yeah, i'll be like 'heya i'm Niall, I know it's your first time meeting me but I got your daughter pregnant' that wouldn't be weird." I said sarcastically, shooting down the idea. "Greg's wedding is in two weeks and we're going to Mullingar for it, kay?" I kissed her and she broke away to make the tea. She really loves tea.

I walked into my room and changed into tracksuit bottoms and a plain white t-shirt. I jumped when I heard her scream, I grabbed the gun from my dresser and ran in, pointing it in the front doors direction. "What's wrong?!"

"My feet look so fat and swollen this isn't even funny. Is this what happens during pregnancy?!" She ran over to my computer and googled some shit.

"I thought something happened! You frightened the shite out of me!" I calmed down and put the gun in a drawer under the microwave.

"It says here, 'during pregnancy the woman's feet, breasts, face and other parts my swell. This is natural during pregnancy.' Oh my God i'm gonna look like a fucking umpa lumpa!" She held her face in shock, staring at the computer screen.

"Calm down, babe. Like you said, it hasn't even been a week so I don't think your 'parts' will swell for a few months." I gave her a hug from behind.

"You're probably right," she shut the computer down and sat still.

"Sit on the couch with me and i'll massage your feet," I laughed, dragging her over to the couch. She put her feet on my lap and I began rubbing.

"That's nice," she closed her eyes and laid back.

"Your feet look fine, I like the pink paint on them. Do you want me to put you on a bubble bath?"

"That'd be fabulous, thanks," she lifted her feet up and I walked into the bathroom, starting the bath and applying the bubbles. I put my hand in to make sure it was hot enough.

"Ow!" I said, removing my hand from the scalding hot water then putting on the cold tap for a few seconds to make the water cooler. I put my hand in once again and it was perfect.

"Cara, the bath awaits you!" I dried my hands and walked into the sitting room, seeing she wasn't there. "Cara?"

"I'm in here," I heard her voice from the bedroom. I walked in and saw her stripping.

"Well hello," I smirked and stared at her for a few seconds until she was butt naked. "You look stunning,"

"Thanks," she laughed, wrapping the towel around her body.

"I think you should keep it off," I unwrapped her towel and kissed her. "Let's get you into the bath," I said, carrying her bridal style into the bathroom. "Enjoy," I set her down beside the bath and she got in slowly.

"Get in here with me," she teased.

I stripped down and hopped in, splashes everywhere.

"You're like a little kid," she giggled.
