“Maybe the atheist cannot find God for the same reason a thief cannot find a policeman.”  Unknown

Work, for I am with you, declares the LORD of hosts, according to the covenant I made with you when you came out of Egypt.  My Spirit remains in your midst.  Fear not.  Haggai 2:4b-5

Diffident:  “hesitant in acting or speaking throng lack of self-confidence”  Merriam-Webster Dictionary

It’s funny how our cat Milly will begin to purr the moment I find her in the morning.  I don’t have to pet her or hold her, just seeing her will get her little cat motor going.  I can’t help but think, that’s kinda how it is with us.  We are meant to be in communion with our Creator.  And when we feel His presence we can’t help but well up with an emotion that doesn’t exist anywhere else.  Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.  My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.  I and the Father are one.”  John 10:27-30  Not only is Jesus one with the Father, He want’s us to be one with Him.  1 Corinthians 6:17 says, “But whosoever is united with the Lord is one with Him in spirit.”  Now that doesn’t put us on level with God, but it does bring us into relation with Him.  God may be denied over and over, but there is an undeniable spirit that lives with us.  Some may call it the “universe,” or the “ether,” or “mother nature.”  However, it remains a mystery until we know the love bore out on the cross.  After His death, before He rose to heaven, Jesus promised this, “And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised.  But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.”  Luke 24:49  Shortly after that the Spirit came down on the apostles in Jerusalem on what is known as the day of Pentecost; and changed everything.  With the Spirit, nothing is the same.  We worship and praise in spirit and we respond to the Spirit’s call.  If you are feeling the call of the Spirit, respond.  It’s the voice of Jesus calling His sheep.  We are His sheep and it is our greatest purpose to hear His voice.  It’s in hearing His voice that we respond in life and in cause.  Want to know how to kick that habit, how to live a godly life, how to live with confidence, peace, and joy?  Respond to His voice.  It changes everything.
