This story was done for RaeKitano's short story challenge. The prompt was the coming of the end. This is just the first part. Enjoy.

I puckered my lips as I slid the bold cherry lipstick on my lips. It was a delightful color. The sales woman was not lying. I moved out of the mirror quickly and picked a pair of nude stockings from my drawer that would match my dress. My husband would be home soon and I wanted to look ravishing for him. I slid the stockings up to my waist, before I picked a bra out of my drawer. Black or Polka dot? Oh the decisions. I’m pretty sure Sean liked black, so I decided on black.

I slid the dress on easily, zipping it up. I looked amazing. My mascara, eyeliner, blush and lipstick were on point.  I styled my hair, so that it fell on my shoulders naturally. When I was finished, I glanced at myself in the mirror. I looked gorgeous as usual.

“Dylan,” I heard Sean’s voice call out.

“Up here sweetie,” I replied moving quickly down stairs. I ginned wide at Sean, wrapping my arms around him. He kissed me on the lip tenderly.

“How was your day?” he asked curiously as he pulled his socks off.

“Great and yours?” I said as the sound of the oven chimed. “Oops! The pot roast is ready. I’ll be right back honey.”

“Take your time,” he said as I moved quickly down the stairs. I grabbed an oven mitt and slid the pot roast out. It looked just as great as it smelled. I placed it on top of the oven, before I slid the mitts back into the drawer. I felt Sean’s hands on my waist just as I turned around.

“Smells great,” he grinned. “Where is Rachel?”

“She’ll be coming home late from school,” I said brushing the hair from my face. “She has that dance recital practice until 5.”

“And Kyle is at soccer practice too?” he asked raising an eyebrow. “That means we have the house all to ourselves for once.”

“Sean,” I said blushing a red color. “It’s four in the afternoon.”

“So,” he said brushing his lips against my neck.

“What if the neighbors hear us?” I said as he sucked on my neck.

“Screw the neighbors,” he teased.

“Sean - you’re being so naughty,” I squeaked as he ran his hand up my thigh.

“Dylan – you make me that way,” he said in a husky voice. I squirmed as I felt a sensation that I hadn’t felt in a while. I moved quickly away from Sean, rushing out of the room. He couldn’t find out – not this way.

“Dylan, where are you going?” Sean said following me.

“I just remembered that I promised Elizabeth that I would meet her,” I said pulling my jacket out of the coat closet as I squeezed into my shoes.

“Can’t you do it later? We were kind of in the middle of something,” he said brushing his lips against my neck.

“No!” I choked out. “I have to. I mean – I promised and you know how I like to keep my promises. Later sweetheart – I swear.”

“Fine,” he said letting it go.

“I’ll be back as soon as I can,” I said quickly moving out the front door. I slid into the car quickly, shoving my car keys inside quickly. I put my foot on the pedal as I drove to my closest friend, Elizabeth’s house. She and I had been best friends since childhood. She knew me better than anyone else and she was my primary physician too.
