Updating tonight instead of tomorrow as I'm out all day and won't have time to update. There might be extra updates this week (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday if I do) as I've got the week off and lots of time to write.

Also, a quick disclaimer: any drawings you see in this chapter or future chapters I do not own. All credit goes to the incredible artists that draw them, but for the story, of course, they are drawn by Lilliana.

18th January 1975

After John proposed, they agreed to marry quickly before Veronica is far enough along that she can't hide the pregnancy anymore. They booked to the earliest date possible for the church.

Veronica went dress shopping with Mary and Chrissie and of course, took Lilliana to get a bridesmaid dress. They're keeping their wedding small so she's only having Lilliana as a bridesmaid/flower girl.

"You look so pretty," Lilliana grins, staring at Veronica in her wedding dress the morning of the wedding.

"Thank you, sweety. You look just as pretty."

There is quiet between them once Veronica's mother leaves after adding her veil and they wait for Veronica's dad to come in, "Can I ask you something?" Lilliana bits her lip nervously

There is quiet between them once Veronica's mother leaves after adding her veil and they wait for Veronica's dad to come in, "Can I ask you something?" Lilliana bits her lip nervously.

"Anything."

"You're marrying my dad, right?"

"Yeah."

"So that makes you my stepmom?"

"Yes, it does."

"Well your already my mum because you look after me and love me like daddy, so could I start calling you mum now?" Instead of giving Veronica space to answer, she starts rambling, "I don't want to call you stepmom because that sounds evil, but calling you V sounds wrong now so can I?"

Feeling teary-eyed, Veronica pulls her into a hug, kissing her head, "I'd love it and be very honoured if you started calling me mum. It's your choice of course so if you're not comfortable, don't feel pressured to do so just because I'm marrying your dad."
