Dylan: Mr. P we are still mad you didn't invite us to the wedding (throwing his football up in the air)
Brian: exactly we wanted to come
Tyler: plus Jamel got to go
Santana:( laughs) trust me if I could've brought all of y'all I would've, but I couldn't fly a bunch of minors to Paris and Jamel went because my wife is his auntie
Jamel:( laughs) they didn't believe me
Santana pov: my mentoring program is going good. I had about 15 more boys sign up and even locked in having some guest speakers come in. These boys really enjoy the program and I'm looking forward to keeping it going.
End of class:
Santana: alright everybody see you all Friday for the trip. 18 and up don't forget to bring your waivers as well. Have a good day.
Boys: see ya Mr. P
Bryan: hey Mr. P can I ask you something?
Santana: yeah, what's up Bryan ?
Bryan:I need help
Santana: what's going on?
Bryan: sighs) I sleep in my car. I have a 2 year old daughter and my 12 year old sister with me and We don't have no where to go, low on food and we don't have many clothes. I was wondering if you could help us get a room for the night at least. I have a job interview tomorrow and if it goes well I promise I'll pay you back
Santana: Bryan why haven't you came to me sooner. This is what this program is all about. How long y'all been in the car ?
Bryan: a month (sighs)my grandparents put us out and I'm trying so hard to get back on track
Santana: I got you man, don't even worry alright
Bryan: thank you
Santana: where's are they now ?
Bryan: down the hall in the day care
Santana: go get them imma make some calls okay
Bryan: thank you Mr. P, I really appreciate it
Santana pov: Bryan was one of my 18 year olds. He's a real good kid. When he first got into the program he was 17 and a high school dropout. At the time him and his grandparents weren't getting along but they still was letting him live there. I didn't know about his sister and daughter. He was rough around the edges but since I met him I worked with him and his behavior has changed tremendously and he's back on track working towards getting his high school diploma. I'm gonna do whatever I can to help him.I made some calls to some hotels and found a close one and paid for a whole months for them. I got the money so why not pay it forward. After that I locked out the class and went down the hall to the daycare and heard Bryan talking to his sister.
Bryan: Brianna did they give you anything? I don't know what to do about that
Brianna: yeah she gave me enough pads for a few days(holding her stomach) I'm sorry
Bryan:(sighs) it's not your fault
Santana: everything okay?
Bryan: giving Brianna his sweater to tie on her waist) I don't know what to do about this. No one ever told her
Santana: ohhh ( nods) look I got y'all a hotel room, y'all can come back to my house for dinner and my wife can handle your sister okay.
Bryan: thank you so much
Santana: it's no problem come on...
