R/m: answers )hey baby

Raven: hi mama you busy?

R/m: no baby I just went on lunch, what's up? How you feeling?

Raven: I'm alright, dad just called and went off on me

R/m: what !? Why?

Raven: says because I haven't been calling him, but I told him I been exhausted plus he hasn't even called me since I had the boys

R/m: sighs) your father has been acting aggressive lately. I don't know what his issue is. I'm sorry baby

Raven: mama he said that y'all "kept me" you were gonna abort me ?

R/m:(clears her throat) um, we -I, how are the boys?

Raven:mama don't change the subject, what did he mean by that?

R/m: we adopted you when you were 3 weeks old (sighs) Nia was 13 at the time and Jamal was 9 and I wanted another baby but unfortunately after having Jamal I had a medical condition and needed to get a hysterectomy. Your father didn't want anymore kids, said two was enough. One day I went to the hospital for a follow up appointment and I stopped to look at the babies and there you were just as pretty as can be and I heard the nurse say it was a shame that you were gonna go into the system. I talked with the nurse and they got me connected to your social worker and I begged your father for us to adopt you.

Raven: so I'm not even your kid !  Why did y'all keep this from me ?

R/m: honey I'm sorry I really am

Raven: I always felt like I didn't belong but this just proves everything!(hangs up)

Raven pov: I was so hurt finding out they weren't my real parents.  I felt the tears build up and I broke down crying. It's like I instantly lost all connection I felt for them. I basically don't even have a family. My phone started ringing and it was my mom trying to call back but I was over it. I didn't even want to talk to her.

Gianna pov: I had just got in my car and was about to head home from work when I seen my bestie was FaceTiming me. I was just thinking about her and I was gone call her when I got home. I put my bags in the back seat and answers.

Gianna: hey bestieee

Raven:hey, you busy? I need to talk

Gianna: what's wrong ?( starting her car)

Raven: everything ( sniffs) my dad called and he was yelling  and shit about how I haven't been calling him as if I didn't just push out two babies. Then he blurts out something bout they kept me and gave me a good life

Gianna: what the hell is his issue ? What he mean kept you?

Raven: apparently I was adopted

Gianna: holy shit , you serious !?

Raven:(nods) yeah, I called my mama and asked and she said that after Jamal was born she had to have a hysterectomy but wanted more kids and my dad didn't . One day she went to the hospital and saw me and heard the nurses say I was going into the system

Gianna: wow, I'm so sorry bestie. Why would they hide that from you after all these years ?

Raven: girl i don't even know, I don't even feel connected to them no more. I love my brother and sister regardless and I always will but i don't know how to feel about my parents right now

Gianna: don't hold nothing against your mama, Mrs. Price has always treated you like her own. Mr. price on the other hand can kick rocks he's always seemed distant to me

Raven: I was only 3 weeks old, my birth parents didn't even try to raise me Gigi. Just left me at the hospital and went on with their lives

Gianna: you don't know the whole story bestie. I'm sure they had their reasons. But look you turned out to be the most amazing person I have ever known and maybe this is the life God set up for you

Raven:(sighs) this is too much for me right now....
