"Oh my Moon, are you two okay?" Nightmare's grip on Dream tightened a bit once he saw a skeleton approaching them, a skeleton who seems to have come from the village. "Yeah, we're okay!" His brother cheerfully responded.

"But it's snowing, aren't you guys cold?" Nightmare took note of how this skeleton monsters refers to Dream as if he was more than one person, not taking into account that this skeleton might be talking to them both. "Well... We are a little cold..." Dream sheepishly said and the skeleton frowned.

"Here." He then suddenly pulled something out of his basket and then carefully placed it around the twins. Nightmare blinking in surprise when it was draped on both Dream and him. Including him into the blanket... No... Maybe they're just trying to not make themselves look bad since Dream's here... Yeah, that's probably it.

"You two must be tired guarding the tree so much..." the skeleton couldn't help but speak softly and worriedly. "Yeah..." Dream sheepishly laughed and Nightmare just stared at the skeleton, as if the skeleton was about to jump and hit him. Wouldn't be new... He was sure that once Dream was gone, then the skeleton would show his true colors.

"Have you guys eaten?" The skeleton asked once more as he then sets down the basket. "If not, here, feel free to eat everything in it." "Wh- Sir it's- it's okay! Really-" "Please, I insist. You two are guardians of this tree, you two need your energy to protect it." The skeleton smiled softly. "Including you." The skeleton turned to Nightmare, now this really surprised him, especially since he was included. No one in the villager has done that to him yet... Wait- No! This is just a ruse to gain his trust! Damn it!

But... He couldn't deny that he was hungry... It has been a bit since he has eaten, especially since he always gives food to his brother during this cold winter season. "Are... Are you really sure Sir...?" "Please, cut the sirs... I'm not even an adult yet, nor do I have any gender..." The skeleton seems to mutter to themselves quietly, unheard of by Dream and Nightmare.

"But yes, I do insist." The skeleton couldn't help but laugh softly and Dream felt a a giggle rouse out of him, Nightmare couldn't stop the small smile from appearing in his face before burying his skull further on Dream's shoulder, since he was embracing his brother to give him warmth.

"Thank you! Brother, we have more food for this winter!" Dream cheered happily and Nightmare slowly nodded, Dream then peeked inside the basket and gasped at the scent of freshly baked butterscotch cinnamon pie and the sight of packeted sandwiches of different fillings.

"Thank you so much for this!" Dream cheered happily and the skeleton nodded. "May we ask for your name if you do not want to be referred to as sir?" Dream asked and the skeleton smiled. "My name is Esmeray... But if the name is too long, feel free to just call me Esme." Esmeray smiled at the twins, who nodded. The twins were glad they could know this nice skeleton's name!
