Help Me (Yoongi X Reader)

Chapter 38

A/N: Reposting this chapter since I read it this morning and saw how bad the ending was.  Chapter 39 will be posted later today.

"Come on babe," Jaehyun whined into the phone two days later, making Y/N wince. "I've seen you one time since you went on break." He knew he sounded desperate but he was annoyed that his girlfriend was spending so much time with her damn cat. Each time he talked to her, it was 'Yoongi this' and 'my kitty that.' If he didn't already dislike the cat, he definitely would have by now.

Y/N looked down at Yoongi. They had just finished breakfast and Yoongi was laying with his head in her lap for his daily morning ear scratches and snuggles. He had his attention turned towards the show he was watching, but turned his gaze to her when he felt her sigh. "Kitty? Do you mind being alone for a couple of hours this evening?" she asked. She didn't want to leave Yoongi yet, but Jaehyun was right.

Yoongi shook his head, although he wanted to beg her to stay home with him. "I'll be fine," he replied, turning his attention back to the television, trying to take his mind off the guy on the other end of the line. He could hear Jaehyun's side of the conversation and wanted to rub it in the human male's face that was he spending more time with his girlfriend than Jaehyun was.

Y/N noticed the slight pout on Yoongi's face. She tickled one of his furry ears, making it twitch. Yoongi turned his head back to her, his eyes narrowing and she had to hold back in a giggle at how adorable he was being. Y/N heard a voice calling her name and turned her attention back to the phone. She had gotten so caught up in Yoongi's cuteness that she temporarily forgot her boyfriend on the other end of the line.

"So are we on for tonight?" Jaehyun asked, unable to hide the irritation in his voice at his girlfriend's distractedness.

"Yeah. It's fine," Y/N replied. "Can we make it a little early? I don't want to be out too late." She really didn't want to go, but figured she owed it to her boyfriend to spend some time with him.

"I'll pick you up at 6," Jaehyun replied. "There's a new restaurant I want to try out." He had heard about the place from some coworkers and had been itching to take Y/N there for weeks now.

"Okay. I'll see you at 6," Y/N replied. Another incoming call came through and Y/N looked down at the phone, seeing Jimin's contact information. "Jae, I gotta go. Jimin's calling me. See you later." Y/N disconnected the call, switching over to Jimin. "What's going on Jiminie?"

"Hey Y/N," Jimin greeted her. "I have an evening wedding tonight. Kookie is usually fine staying home, but he wants to know if he can come hang out with you and Yoongi tonight instead."

Y/N sighed. "I'm going out with Jae, but Kookie is more than welcome to come hang out with Yoongi. I won't be home too late," she replied.

Jimin rolled his eyes, happy his friend couldn't see him. He really wished she would just break up with her jerk boyfriend already, but he knew he couldn't force it on her. He turned to Jungkook and explained it, smiling a little when he saw his sweet bunny's pout at the realization Y/N would not be home. He perked up a little when Jimin said she wouldn't be out late and he could still get plenty of ear scratches.

Jimin turned his attention back to the phone. "Kookie would still like to come," he replied. "He said he misses your ear scratches. Even though you saw him three days ago."

Y/N laughed into the phone. She really did adore the sweet bunny and his adorable mannerisms. "I will make sure to get home in plenty of time for ear scratches," Y/N replied, moving her hand from Yoongi's hair, resting it on his shoulder. She laughed again when Yoongi grabbed her hand and moved it back to his hair, silently indicating that she was not done yet.
