Mary was one of those girls who had an ability to make everyone around her feel more peaceful because of her existence itself. Mary had a soft presence and calmness within her; she knew her place in life. Raid wasn't the same. He was always making noise, creating motion, and taking moments that were impossible to hold onto. He was a dream many desired, yet it was impossible to grasp since Raid didn't believe in permanence. It was never supposed to happen. But in the midst of their differences and pretensions, something started changing slowly, gradually, until there wasn't much left to deny. For the first time, Raid found himself trying to hold onto something he couldn't quite understand, something that felt peaceful and real... something that wasn't supposed to complete him but accompany him through his brokenness.

The Kingdom of Chionothýella has been ruled by the Nervana family for centuries. The kingdom was placed in the middle of almost no where, the land cold and almost constantly storming with strong winds filled with blinding and biting snow. It's nearly constantly cloudy, snow covering the ground in layers and almost locking people in their houses. To help cope, for as long as anyone can remember, the royal family was blessed with powers to control the ice and snow that they lived in. For generations, the kingdom thrived. King Boreas and his Queen, Gwyneira ruled the kingdom since their late teen years. Around their mid twenties, they bore a son, their firstborn. His name was Krystallos. Life was good, and they raised the boy for two years. Until, the raid happened. Thieves and such don't usually even know of Chionothýella. It's a cozy place in the middle of a snowing nightmare. Not somewhere that seems worth the trip. But they came. And they /made/ their trip worth it. The Kingdom was left without a royal family to protect them after that raid. Nothing but the ruins of what was once the beautiful palace of the royal family and the well they got majority of their water from frozen with unbreakable ice, where their Queen died and where young Krystallos suddenly disappeared, assumed dead. The kingdom knows they won't last long with the benefits of those who ruled them, not to mention having to seek elsewhere for usable water. But after fourteen years, the well melts. And something emerges.
