It only took a few days before Shuichi started to adjust to the new environment of the workplace. He was scheduled to work evenings and nights which suited him because Shuichi was a night owl. It also seemed working in a walmart wasn't as a blessing as the commercials may make it out to be. Most of the customers were rude- not being patient with the new guy , Togami was basically a spoiled rich kid who had the job of humiliating employees every time someone came up to them to ask a question- the customer would squint their eyes at the nametag, then would either find a series of words that avoided using the nickname, or would blink rapidly a few times, and shake their head and dismiss their help. Shuichi was starting to wonder if this was really okay to embarrass workers like this. But surprisingly almost none of his colleagues were bothered by the name tags. They seemed to embrace their titles with good humor (except for Maki Harukawa. Who had 'Maki Roll' thanks to an anonymous suggestion given to Togami) and Shuichi eventually began to even laugh off his 'Emo Mess'.
"Hahaha! I think it really suits you! Y'know, since you got such dark long lashes thanks to you mascara!" Kaito laughed one evening, patting Shuichi on the back.
"I...don't wear makeup.." Shuichi sighed to himself, exhaling, feeling like he got that accusation too much.
Suprisingly not surprisingly, Shuichi found himself slightly curious about that one guy he saw a few days ago. The one Kaito carried off.
"Hey, Momota-kun. What happened to the guy you left with the other day? The one with the purple hair ?" He asked while the two were on break.
Kaito took a bite of his subway sandwich, while chewing the last bite , he crumbled up the packaging and thought to himself about what Shuichi was talking about. "Well like I said, he usually hangs around the back. Where we keep boxes of stuff and he counts it or brings it out when we stock." He replied after he swallowed.
Shuichi nodded slowly , thinking about that.
"Hey, you wanna see him or somethin'?" Kaito asked curiously, rubbing the nape of his neck. "Just sayin', he's kinda a pain. And has no filter or conscious to what he says." He warned, but Shuichi smiled back and waved his hand dismissively.
"Don't worry. I just wanted to introduce myself. I felt kinda bad we got off on the wrong foot the other day because he and Fukawa-san didn't get along.:" Shuichi explained, sitting up and collecting his trash from his meal break. "I'm gonna go see him and apologize for that. See you later , Momota-kun. Thanks for eating with me." He thanked over his shoulder, throwing the trash away and leaving the break room.
As it said on his nametag; 'Luminary of the Fools' , Kaito watched Shuichi quickly leave. Kaito never even got up , and was just sipping on his water bottle as he sat there.
"Should I have told him about Maki Roll spying and keeping radar on Oma -kun?..." he murmered to himself , stroking his goatee in thought.
"....nah."
