Ahsoka was fine so far.
A bit of colour had returned to her face, an even though she was unconscious her breath went evenly and strong.
It was the best state in a long time.
Anakin sat next to her, watching over her, while Rex and Obi-Wan tried to fish.
Not that they were really successful.
Apparently they all were bad hunters and fishers.
Ahsoka had been better at this.
Anakin looked down at her relaxed features.
She seemed to be finally at peace.
With a thick layer of Bacta over her wound and a thin one over the burns on her side, the pain was numbed.
Compared to what it must have felt like before, now it must feel great.
If she would be awake to feel it.
Every few minutes Anakin made sure, that she was still breathing.
Just in case.
It was a loud "eeeeek!" Followed by a splash that made him turn around.
Rex laid in the river. Obi-wan stood at the edge chuckling.
Anakin raised a hand and thanks to the force the older one laid in the river seconds later too.
Rex grinned.
"Thanks General!" he said to Anakin.
"Not General" the Jedi replied.
"Thanks Anakin..." Rex repeated, even though his voice showed how weird he felt using that name.
After all he did have the lower rank.
And ranks were what he was raised with.
Then again, everything out here seemed to not fit the way he knew living.
Here was no droid army to fight.
Here were no troops to lead.
Here were no ranks.
It wasn't like the trees would get angry, just because he didn't stay formal enough.
Here it was just nature and them.
Was this how peace felt like?
To only worry about food and shelter, not about battles?
If it wouldn't be for Ahsoka, Rex almost wished that the rescue team would take their time, because he liked it there.
Even though he indeed missed his brothers.
Well, but after what Skywalker said, there wasn't even a rescue team coming.
So he probably was going to get time to figure it out.
If this was peace he felt.
If he actually felt so safe at this place.
The only thing he kept on worrying about was his little sister.
Everything else was manageable, but seeing her in this state, made him feel sick as well.
He hated it if she was in pain.
He wished that somebody would come anyway.
For her sake.
