A few days later, it was cold, but there was not a lot of snow, Jesse was working on his truck. Ellie went outside.
"What ya doing?" asked Ellie to Jesse.
He didn't look from his work. He was covered in oil and greese.
"Fixing my truck" said Jesse.
"Why?" asked Ellie.
She was trying to get on his nerves.
"Because its broken" said Jesse.
"Whats wrong with it?" asked Ellie.
"I don't know I'm trying to figure it out" said Jesse get upset.
"Then how can you be fixing something, when you don't know whats wrong with it?" asked Ellie.
"Ellie!" said Jesse looking, "No more questions"
She skipped off. Jesse sighed.
"Whats the matter with you?" asked TJ coming up behind him.
"She asks to many dam questions" said Jesse.
TJ laughed.
"Its not funny" said Jesse.
"She is only doing it to get under your skin, which worked" said TJ.
"Can just help me?" asked Jesse.
"Sure" said TJ, "Whats wrong with it?"
Jesse gave him a look.
"I don't I'm trying to figure it out" said Jesse.
"Have you checked everything?" asked TJ.
"Yes" said Jesse, "I don't know"
They started to work on his truck. Meanwhile Ellie was on the swing and heard some one coming she jumped up hoping it was John, but it wasn't, he hadn't called or been around in days. It wasn't it was Chace and Annie. He slowed down. Ellie was suking on the swing.
"Whats the matter Sunshine?" asked Chace.
She looked up.
"Where's John?" asked Ellie.
"He is working" said Chace.
"Thats a lame excuse, you keep saying that" said Ellie.
"He will come around" said Chace.
"You keep saying that to" said Ellie.
Chace didn't say anything and kept driving. Ellie got up and ran back to the house. She was upset, but decided to let it go. She ran to TJ and Jesse, Chace was now there, Annie went inside. Ellie came up between TJ and Chace.
"I'm bored" said Ellie.
They ignored her.
"I'm bored" said Ellie.
"Ellie are you ok, I know your upset about John" said Chace.
"No I'm not I decided not be to, its his stupid fault and I'm not going to be upset, if he wants to come around he will and theres nothing we can do about" said Ellie she ran off.
They all watched her.
"Thats new" said TJ.
"Ya really" said Chace.
"She is saying that but I can gurantee in a few days, there will be a break down" said Jesse.
"God I hope not" said TJ.
"Have you talked to John?" asked Jesse to Chace.
"Ya I have, he is to pissed off to come over here" said Chace, "I told him he needs to get over it and come to at least see Ellie."
"I texted him he didn't answer" said Jesse, "So I told him off"
"Why did you do that?" asked TJ.
"Because he deserves" said Jesse.
"Jesse, what would you do if you got kicked out?" asked Chace.
"Certainly not act like an ass" said Jesse.
"He has point" said TJ.
"Whatever, I have tried to talk to him" said Chace, "He has been rude, I told him to cut it out or I'm kicking him out to"
They continued working. A few minutes later they heard a crash and Ellie scream. They stopped looked at each other and ran to the barn.
"TJ! Chace! Jesse!" she yelled.
They stopped for a second when they got in there, she had fallen through some boards in the loft. Chace and TJ climb to the loft. Jesse ran to underneath her. TJ grabbed her hands when he got there. Jesse held on to her legs.
"You ok?" asked Chace.
"Ya" said Ellie laughing a little.
They shook their heads. TJ lowered her down, he held his hands under her arm pits. Jesse held on to her feet and then caught her when she got closer. Ellie smiled at him. He shook his head but smiled.
"You ok?" asked Jesse.
"Ya, just a little dusty" said Ellie, "I said I was bored."
They laughed. Jesse put her down and TJ and Chace got down from the loft.
"Guess who is going to have to fix that?" asked TJ.
"Me and Jesse" said TJ.
Ellie smiled.
They smiled at her.
Later Chace was leaving and Ellie came up with an idea, not the best idea, but it was an idea. She hid in the back on Chace's truck. Chace made a few stops Ellie was hungry and cold.
Meanwhile at the house it was dinner time.
"Where is Elizabeth Jane?" asked Nancy.
"No idea" said Will.
"Jesse said she fell through the barn loft today" said Will trying to get him in trouble.
"What? Jesse!" she yelled.
"Ya mom?" asked Jesse coming in. TJ came in to.
"Elizabeth Jane fell through the barn loft?" asked Nancy.
He shot Will a look.
"She didn't fall. She was holding on, and he got to her before she fell through" said Jesse.
"She was fine, not cuts or broken bones, we made sure, she was just dusty" said TJ.
"Ok, now where is she?" asked Nancy.
"I don't know" said Jesse shrugging TJ did the same thing.
She yelled up the stairs and went to look no luck. She walked in to Luke's room.
"Supper Luke" said Nancy, "Have you seen Elizabeth Jane?"
"I saw her outside about twenty minutes ago" said Luke.
"Alright" said Nancy. She went to the porch and called no answer.
She went inside.
"I don't where she is" said Nancy.
"Not again" said Will.
"Shut up Will" said Jesse.
"Boys" said Edward, "Before anyone starts to eat, go look for her"
They all sighed. They got outside.
"She is such a pain today" said Jesse.
"Can we just find her, so we can eat" said Will.
"Really Will?" said Luke.
"What I'm hungry" said Will.
"Ellie is missing...again!" said Luke.
"Relax we will find her" said Will.
"I can't relax" said Luke.
"Me either" said TJ.
"Wait when did mom said she went missing?" asked Luke.
"Right when Chace left" said Jesse.
"She is so dead" said Luke.
Meanwhile Chace and Annie got out of the truck and went inside. John was there to. Chace then got a call from Luke.
"Dude is Ellie with you?" asked Luke.
"No why?" asked Chace.
"We can't find her" said Luke, "and she went missing right when you left"
"You know what I thought I heard something in the back of my truck" said Chace.
Chace went outside. Ellie knew she was busted when she heard him on the phone. He peaked over the truck and saw her Ellie smiled. Chace gave her a look.
"Found her" said Chace hanging up.
"Get up" said Chace.
Ellie sighed and got up. He grabbed her around the waist and pulled her from the truck forcefully and took inside. He threw he down on the chair.
"What were you thinking?" asked Chace mad.
John came in. Ellie shot him a look.
"Hey answer me" said Chace.
"Whats going on?" asked Annie, "Ellie?"
"Ellie!" yelled Chace.
"I wanted to talk to talk John, but since he didn't want to talk to me or come around, I thought I would come to him" said Ellie.
"Ellie! I don't care you know how dangerous that was!" he yelled.
"Ya" said Ellie.
"Don't give me any attitude" said Chace, "I'm taking you home" he was really mad.
"No" said Ellie pulling away.
Chace stopped and gave her a look.
"John why do have to be such a jerk" said Ellie, "just because dad kicked you out because you didn't something stupid, doesn't give you the right to be a jerk."
John was silent. Ellie gave him a real angry face. She wasn't even crying.
"Just get over it!" yelled Ellie.
John was still silent.
"Fine whatever" said Ellie walking away out the door. Chace followed without a word. The whole ride Ellie never said anything. At the house, Luke told everyone where she was. She got into the house.
"ELIZABETH JANE!" yelled Nancy, "What were you thinking!"
Ellie didn't answer.
"Elizabeth Jane, go to bed, we will talk in the morning" said Edward calmly. Ellie ran up the stairs.
Luke stopped.
"Ellie you know how worried we were! yelled Luke.
Ellie said nothing and gave him a face and ran to her room and shut the door. Luke stood there silently.
Downstairs..
"What was she doing?" asked Nancy.
"She want to talk to John, she more liked yelled at him. She told him to go over himself, and stop being a jerk, just because he got kicked out is no excuse" said Chace.
Edward said nothing.
"For once can't this family just be happy with one another, this is why I didn't want John out in the first place" said Nancy storming out.
