Ashton and Luke fell asleep on the couch, well, Ashton did, Luke must've fallen on the floor seeing as he was face first on the carpet. It was a funny sight to see, Ashton just had to take a picture first before putting him back on the couch. He was a heavy sleeper, there could be a hurricane and he'd sleep through it all. As he was waiting for Luke to wake up, his dad came down the stairs. "Good morning Ashton." He smiled. "Good morning Mr.Hemmings."
He walked in the kitchen with him as he was offered some coffee. When he accepted the offer, they both waited for it. "Is there something bothering you?" Ashton asked. "I didn't want Luke to know, but I saw his mum yesterday. She wants to see him. I'm not sure if I feel comfortable with that." He explains. "If you don't feel comfortable. Then you don't have to let her see him. Cause you do have custody over him."
"Yeah I understand that part, but what if he wants to see her? Do you think you could see if he would want to see her for me? I know I should be the one asking, but it was hard on both of us and I feel like he'd be comfortable if it was you. But there's no rush to ask him. Would you be okay with that?" Ashton nodded,"Of course."
Then Luke walked in yawning and rubbing his eyes. "Good morning sleepy head." Ashton chuckled seeing his bed head. He leaned up against him while Andrew handed him his cup of coffee. But Luke went ahead and took it. "Um, I think that was for me." Ashton laughed as he walked back to the living room. "Get used to it." Andrew laughed as he went to go with Luke.
"You know that coffee was supposed to be mine." He spoke to Luke who was happily drinking it and flipping through the channels on the TV. "Fine, I guess you can have some."
"You know, I've been looking at apartments." He spoke which grabbed Luke's attention. "I think I found one I really like." He smiled. "Really? Can I see?"
"Would your dad be okay with that?" Luke nodded undoubtedly. "Alright, go get changed."
The apartment Ashton really loves is sort of near Luke's house. It's closer than what his parents house was. It was a two bedroom, one bathroom apartment. It was a reasonable price, one that he could afford so he had no problem with that. He knew Luke was going to love it.
When they got there, Luke instantly fell in love with it. They haven't even gotten inside yet, the building alone was super nice. Then they got inside the apartment and he fell even more in love.
"You have to get this. Like no doubt about it." He said as he wandered around the apartment. "It's yours if you want it." The realtor said. He looked over to Luke who was smiling while looking around the place. "I'll take it."
He made his payments to the realtor and he was given his key, then the realtor left. "Did you get it?" Luke asked and Ashton just showed him the key. "Yay!!" He jumped up and hugged Ashton, who wrapped his arms around his waist. "I'm so happy you did."
"Me too babe." He spoke before kissing his lips.

Back at Luke's house, Ashton wasn't sure when to ask him, but he also didn't want to wait any longer because he knew he'd forget to ask at all. They were on Luke's couch, watching some show Luke put on.
"Luke, would you ever want to see your mum again?" Ashton asked, a bit curiously. It took a moment for him to comprehend what he asked, but then he turned towards Ashton. "Why do you ask?"
"I was just curious. She's your mum after all." He shrugged. "She's not my mum. She never was my mum once she hit me. I don't want to see her." He spoke with a bit of sadness evident in his voice. "I'm gonna use the restroom." Then he walked away.
Andrew then came walking through the front door who made eye contact with Ashton instantly. "He doesn't want to see her." He spoke. Andrew nodded understandingly,"I figured he wouldn't. The one thing I didn't like about his mum is that she's stubborn and won't stop until she gets what she wants. That's the only thing I'm scared of. Thank you anyways Ash."
"No problem. Does she know where you live?" Andrew shook his head,"No, she shouldn't at least. We moved a couple years after she left. I want to keep it that way, but I don't know how much longer it'll stay hidden."
"Is she capable of figuring out where you live?" Ashton asked. "Maybe. When she's on drugs or drunk, she could barley comprehend enough words to string a sentence together, but when she was sober, she was like a detective. I don't know if she's been clean or if she stayed on. I couldn't tell when I saw her, I didn't really care enough to."
"Well, lets hope she doesn't figure it out. Cause the last thing I want is for him to see her again out of the blue."
After a while of the talking, Ashton excused himself to go check up on Luke. "Babe? You alright in there?" He knocked. "Yeah." He trembled.
Ashton could tell he was crying, just by how he said that one word. He could tell something was wrong. "Luke, open the door." Seconds after he heard the click of the lock which meant he unlocked it. He helped himself in and Luke had his hands on the sink counter using his arms to hold him up while his head hung low.
Ashton didn't need to hear anything else to know he needed someone to comfort him, so he brought him in a hug and almost immediately he heard sobs coming from the shorter boy. The taller boy softly uttered some 'shh's' while caressing the back of his head gently.
"Okay, you wanna tell me what happened?" Ashton asked eyeing Luke cautiously. "Um, I'm sorry. I'm just a big crybaby. It's just that when you mentioned my mum everything came flooding back, all the memories. And the thought of seeing her, I just couldn't bare it." He trembled. "I'm sorry I asked about her. I didn't know it was that much of a sensitive topic. I won't mention her again."
They both walked out of the restroom, returning back to where they sat on the couch before and watching some movies like they were. "So when do you move into your new house?" Luke asked. "Whenever."
"Well, can we move some of your stuff in after we go to the library?" Ashton nodded.
"Is that me?" He asked again while pointing to Ashton's wallpaper on his phone. "Yeah." He laughed. "When did you take that?" He wondered. "This morning. You must've fallen off the couch last night. But don't worry, I helped you after I took this picture." Ashton innocently smiled. "I look so weird. How am I sleeping like that?" Luke laughed. "I'm not sure how you stayed asleep, but you looked pretty comfortable." They both laughed.
After moments of silent, Ashton spoke up again. "Okay, so I have to run to the bank to get some more money. Apparently there's a fee that I have to pay when I first move in. But I will be right back." Then he kissed Luke goodbye.
About 20 minutes after he left, he heard a car door slam outside, thinking it was Ashton, he opened the door, but it wasn't Ashton's car. So he immediately shut it. He didn't recognize the car, but there was a man who walked up to his door. He was looking through the windows, trying to see past the blinds, he even heard him try to unlock the door. Then finally, the stranger knocked on the door. He looked through the little peephole in the door and he had lots of tattoos, like Ashton. He wore a black leather jacket and his hair was slicked back.
Andrew came down also to see who knocked, but when he saw Luke's scared expression, he didn't want to answer it, but the man wasn't going away because they heard him knock again. So being the adult, he answered the door. Luke stayed behind the door making sure he couldn't see him.
"Does an Ashton Irwin live here?" He asked. "No he doesn't." Andrew answered. "What about a Luke Hemmings?" He asked again and Luke felt an anxious pang in his chest when he heard his name. "No he doesn't."
Seconds after, his dad shut the door. "Did you know him?" Luke shook his head. "He gave me creeper vibes. Make sure you lock everything before you go to bed."
Luke was downstairs waiting for Ashton to come back, but he never did. He must've fallen asleep though because he had this really weird dream where he saw someone come in his house and look through every room. He couldn't see his face though, it was weird and scary enough to wake him up. The time was around 3:45 in the morning when he woke up and he looked outside and saw the same car when that guy came. So he knew it wasn't a dream which spooked him the most. He made sure every single door and window was locked and he noticed the car left too which was a relief. But he couldn't go back to sleep after that, so he waited and waited for Ashton to return.
He put the TV on just to pass time by, but it seemed like time was taking forever to pass. But every time he tried going back to sleep, every small noise he'd hear just made him more paranoid. At around 6 in the morning, when the sun was starting to come up, that's when he started to feel more safe with falling asleep, so he did for less than an hour though. He knew it would be okay because he dad wakes up around that time so if anything were to happen he'd have his dad.
