Kaplan.
"Why are there so many dances?" I asked Gage. He shrugged and looked around. "Hey, why are you being so quiet today?" I asked him, getting sort of annoyed by it if I'm being honest.
He shrugs again. I arch my eyebrows and purse my lips. He shrugs again and his eyes widen. I squint my eyes this time and softly glare at him.
"Fucking hell." He whispers. "I get scared too Kaplan. I get really fucking scared that one day my dad will be the one to disappear and I will be left with some baby that I'll know nothing about and when it grows up, it will think I'm it's dad. I mean how sick is that?" He had tears in his eyes but they went away the more he blinked.
"I get scared too. I don't even like children Gage. I hate them. I hate their smiles. I hate their laughs. I hate their faces. I hate everything about them. When they fart it's not cute. I hate them. I don't know how I'm supposed to take care of this child when I hate children." I shake my head. "This kid is going to grow up with sick 'parents'." I chuckle and he even finds someway to laugh.
"I know you don't hate children Kaplan." He says and an eyebrow arches on my forehead. "You're scared. For real." He whispers in my ear.
"I'm not scared of children." I tell him.
"No. Not in the way you think, which is kind of like a Chucky movie but in the way all mothers are." He smiles and I shake my head.
"What did I tell you about doing your stupid psychology shit on me." I warned him. This needed to stop. He was just using his dumb class lessons on me and I didn't like it. He wasn't a pro and he makes it sound like he is. He doesn't know me and he is just making me hate him even more. "And I'm not a mom." I state so he understands that.
"You're not yet." He says and I glare at him.
"I won't ever be."
"Why not." He really wants to get punched the fuck out today.
"Because I hate children." I wanted to stay quiet.
"Because why."
"Because why love something you'll never have!"
And then I realized everything.
