STAR'S POV
"Are you done? We should probably get to work soon" Marie, a co worker of mine says, after quickly finishing off the rest of her sandwich and I frown in confusion
"We have like 20 minutes before lunch is over though" I say, not exactly as eager to return to work
"Simon gave me some work to do and I just remembered I haven't. He's going to have my fucking head on a platter" she says, already getting up with her bag
"I'll just see you at work then" I say as she drops a couple dollars on the table for her lunch
"Alright, bye" she says before rushing out of the restaurant and I watch the door shut behind her before returning to my drink
Literally can't wait for the weekend.
Work sucks.
I open my email to take a look at the mails that got sent this morning and I nearly choke on my drink
What the fuck? Are these utility bills or house rent?
Logan and her one thousand lights that must stay on 24/7 in the house and her stupid bathroom with multiple shower heads that I love so much.
How am I supposed to take quick showers in a bathroom with multiple shower heads and multi temperature settings when I can have a wonderful time having nice, hot water coming at me from all sides?
That's like a water bill trap.
When I insisted on at least paying the utility bills and occasional food items since Logan won't let me pay rent and I felt bad about staying there for free, I did it thinking it'd be easier on my small paycheck.
But what?
I've never seen water bills this high in my life! And that's just one out of the utilities.
Lord help me.
I can't help but be grateful I don't even have to pay rent cause I'd be broke as hell.
I close the email and drop my phone on the table, deciding to think about all that later. Probably take care of it later tonight.
It's a couple minutes of just enjoying my lunch and thinking of random stuff before I realize I have to get to work.
Seriously, work sucks.
But at least, it pays bills.
I pay for my lunch and leave a tip before making my way out of the restaurant and onto the sidewalk.
Thankfully, the restaurant is close to my place of work and I can just walk back to work after lunch and enjoy the warm, afternoon breeze.
I wonder what Logan is doing.
Probably being all hard working and dilligent and...what the fuck?
Wait, sorry.
I meant, WHAT THE FUCK?!!!!
I rub at my eyes to make sure I'm not seeing things and sure enough, there is Logan, 14 feet above the fucking ground.
I'm actually staring at Logan in a fucking billboard, what the fuck?
I don't waste time and dig my phone out of my bag, opening our texts.

I only have to wait a few seconds before I receive a text in reply and I'm glad, cause this is urgent.

• You're right. I'll order Chinese for dinner and we can talk then

I don't reply after that and keep my phone back in my bag.

I can remember the number of times I asked about her job and she strongly dismissed my questions and all this while, she owned a famous brand?
I should have even put two and two together from all the things I have picked up.
She has a lot of sketches of outfits
She has like 3 different mannequins in her closet and measuring tapes hanging off them
She gives me a lot of work advice about the fashion industry, helps me with ideas
There are a ton of Sincerely yours magazines in the house
Her last name is fucking DONAHUE!!
I mean I kind of was already 97% sure she worked in the fashion industry and that she probably had a high position, seeing as she is so fucking rich but I didn't think she'd actually be the founder of a greatly sought after and thriving brand.
She's told me so much, almost begged me, not to try to pry into her work life and that she wanted me to know her differently from the Logan she is at work and I guess, that kind of made me subconsciously put off clues about her work life.
Nothing could have readied me for this.
Why didn't she want me to know though? It's not like I'd have seen her any differently?
Was she scared I'd try to use her or something? Use her position to get me a nice spot in the fashion industry?
I should probably just wait till I get home and can talk to her. No point making assumptions all by myself.
With that, I make my way back to work. It's not as easy to not think about Logan and this new knowledge throughout the day though.

I'm shutting the drawer after dressing up when I see the door open and I watch Logan step into the room, all cautious.
"Hey" she starts, standing still by the door when normally, she'd be peppering my face with kisses by now and making jokes
"Hi" I say and walk over to her "Relax, I'm not upset with you" I say before pressing a kiss to her cheek "I just want to talk, okay?" I add with another kiss to her lips
"Promise?" She asks and I can't help but smile at how adorable she is
"I promise"
"Okay" she says and I see her visibly relax "I thought you might be upset"
"I'm not. I'm just unclear about some things but it's nothing we can't talk about. How about you go take a shower and I'll set up for dinner?" I say and she nods
"Alright, thanks"
"It's okay. I'll be downstairs" I say and she nods
I end up doing just that, I pay for our Chinese food delivery, set it up, open some wine and wait for Logan. We end up not talking about the issue over dinner because somehow her interest in my day ended up causing me to rant about work and some of the employees that I don't like while she laughs, comforts and asks more questions at just the right places.
We clean up after dinner together and end up in her room where we finally have a discussion about it.
She tells me all about how she totally hated her parents and wanted to spite them by starting a brand despite their not supporting her going into fashion.
She tells me how she worked her way up to her position now and how it had never really been easy, especially since it was while she was young and had recently cut herself off from her family.
She tells me all this and I have only one thing to say cause it's how I truly feel.
"You're amazing and I'm so proud of you" I say and a smile pulls at her lips as I press a kiss to her forehead
There was one question lingering in my mind though and I wanted an answer to that.
"Why did you hide it from me? Your work?" I ask
"Just liked the privacy I guess. Liked you not seeing me as anything other than Logan, liked you liking me for me, not anything else. So I wanted to keep it like that for as long as I could" she says "Honestly, I thought it was all too weird to be a coincidence that we were both at a bar and you ran into me just when you got evicted. I mean you work in the fashion industry and you ended up living in my house and I thought you knew who I was and was going to ask for favours so I decided to just distance myself from you. But I realized eventually that you didn't even know who I was and what I did and you were hard working and you liked me for me and I just enjoyed that so I wanted it to remain that way" she says
"I understand. But, you know this changes absolutely nothing right?" I ask, moving closer to her
"Yeah?" She asks and I nod
"Who you are to me is different from who you are to the world, it doesn't matter if you own space, I like just plain, ordinary Logan"
"Plain, ordinary Logan" she says the words like relief
"Yeah. You know the Logan that loves teen titans go, that loves putting her hair in space buns when she doesn't have work, that secretly loves cats but pretends she doesn't think they're cute as hell, that looks forward to us having dinner even if she's exhausted from work, the soft, soft Logan that loves hugs and likes to give and receive kisses and says the sweetest, cutest things. That's the Logan I know and that I like, not the tough persona everyone else knows. It's easy to be cautious and skeptical, especially in your position, but I promise you can trust me"
"I do trust you"
"Thank you" I say, pressing a kiss to the bridge of her nose
"Thank you" she says back and I nod in acknowledgement
I sleep in her arms that night and I feel more at peace than I ever have cause I have a wonderful woman who I like and who likes me and with whom I can comfortably talk to and sort things out with.
As I fall into gentle, sweet unconsciousness, I decide that everything would just have to fall into place cause I'm not giving her up for anything.
I hope she feels the same way.
