"So here's what you missed on Glee, the New Directions lost at Sectionals to the Warblers but thanks to a ruling by the showchoir board the New Directions are back to compete," the narrator said as a clip of Finn talking to the New Directions. "We're back," Finn grinned as the New Directions cheered, excited that for once things had been ruled in their favor. "Santana found out the truth of who Brittany's 'lesbian love child' baby daddy is and it's safe to say she's not happy about it," the narrator said as a clip of Santana glaring at Brittany and Sam played. "You know I was really upset when you broke up with me but if the best you can do for a rebound is Trouty, I guess I really have nothing to worry about." Santana then snapped her fingers to leave as her fellow Cardinals cheerleaders followed her as Brittany and Sam watched her leave stunned for two different reasons."Speaking of Santana she left a job offer from Sue to head to New York which surprised Kurt and Rachel," the narrator said as we cut to a clip of Santana arriving at Kurt and Rachel's apartment. "Santana. What are you doing here?" Kurt asked as Santana just walked into the apartment as Kurt and Rachel looked back at each other. "Moving in," Santana shrugged. "And that's what you missed on," the narrator said. "GLEE!" The voices sang out.

Cut to Figgins office where Brittany and Sam are seated. "Sexy teen imbeciles. The S.A.T. scores are in, and you have managed to receive the highest and lowest scores ever recorded at McKinley," Figgins said. "Yes! I knew it. Secret genius," Sam celebrated thinking he got the high score. "Brittany S. Pierce has received a near-perfect 2340 on her exam," Figgins said in disbelief as Brittany looked shocked. "Wait, what? How?" Sam said also in disbelief. "Clearly, she cheated," Figgins said in an accusing tone. "No, I did not cheat. I swear," Brittany frowned "All I did was I filled in "A" for a while and then "C" for a little bit and then "D" and then I did "A" again and then I used the dots to draw a clown and then a penis." "Wait....what were my scores?" Sam asked worriedly. "You got a 340, which in clinical trials is a score routinely bested by monkeys," Figgins shot at Sam who looked down realizing he quite possibly was the dumbest person at McKinley. "Sam don't worry, okay? You don't need to go to college like the rest of us. You have a really great body. You could be a personal trainer. You could be a greeter at Abercrombie. You could be a greeter at Abercrombie's corporate headquarters Whatever you want to do," Brittany assured Sam who still didn't seem too sure. "But meanwhile, my future looks bright. I'm gonna graduate. I'll go to Harvard or "Princetown" or "MITT" or "Stanford and Son" or the "University of California at Charles Barkley's House, 'cause evidently I'm one of the smartest people in America," Brittany grinned as she gave Figgins a thumbs up while Sam sat there pondering what this meant for him.

Cut to Santana staring out the window of Kurt and Rachel's apartment in Bushwick where she has been currently living. "My first real week in New York and I'm stuck in Bushwick with a bunch of musical theatre queens," Santana said in a voice over showing her disgust as she looks over to Kurt and Adam as well as Rachel and Brody who are deep into rehearsing for the Funny Girl auditions. "Ugh. And to think New York was supposed to be my chance to do something great. Now I just get to deal with Lady Hummel and the rejected dwarf talking about some lame musical I could care less about. And to top it all off I just lost Brittany to the mayor of Lamesville, my life seriously couldn't get any worse," Santana said in a voice over as her thoughts are interrupted by Kurt, Adam, Rachel, and Brody all laughing together. "So, where you from, Doctor Who?" Santana asked approaching Adam. "Uh, England. Do you know Essex?" "No. Never heard of it," Santana shrugged. "Speaking of something in excess I could really do without the touchy-feeliness of you couples," Santana said as Kurt shook his head. "Rachel and I are letting you live here rent-free. The least you could do is..." Kurt began. "Is what? Be grateful. Bow down to ye almighty. Doubtful," Santana said as Rachel looked out annoyed. "Okay, that's it! You're gonna have to move out because this our sanctuary, and by ours, I mean mine and Kurt's, and frankly, you make me feel uncomfortable, and Brody says that you make him feel uncomfortable as well, isn't that right Brody?" Rachel asked looking back at Brody. "Uhhh...." Brody said awkwardly not wanting to rock the boat as Rachel continued to glare at him. "You know what? Fine. I'll go," Santana said grabbing her things "I have nothing left to lose anyway," Santana said as she headed out the door as the tune of 'Here I Go Again' by Whitesnake begins to play.

"No, I don't know where I'm goin' but I sure know where I've been. Hanging on the promises in songs of yesterday and I've made up my mind. I ain't wasting no more time. Here I go again. Oh. Here I go again," Santana sang as she left the apartment and began to walk the streets of New York. "Though I keep searchin' for an answer, I never seem to find what I'm lookin' for. Oh Lord, I pray you give me strength to carry on 'cause I know what it means to walk along the lonely street of dreams. And here I go again on my own. Goin' down the only road I've ever known. Like a drifter, I was born to walk alone. And I've made up my mind, I ain't wasting no more time. But here I go again, Here I go again, Here I go again, here I go," Santana sang as she continues to walk around looking for somewhere to go and spots The Spotlight diner and walks in. "And here I go again on my own. Goin' down the only road I've ever known. Like a drifter, I was born to walk alone. 'Cause I made up my mind. I ain't wasting no more time, no," Santana sang as she looked around The Spotlight Diner, ready to start over.

Cut to the choir room as Tina approaches Blaine. "Hey, Blaine. Will you please go to the mall with me after school? I want to go clothes shopping," Tina asked. "Sure," Blaine smiled a bit agreeing to it but is stunned when he sees Sam walking in :Oh, sweet merciful Lord." Sam entered the choir room in a bathing suit and sunglasses. "Sam. What are you doing? It's January," Blaine said in shock. "What do you mean? It's hot out there, you know? Sun's out, it's, like, way above freezing," Sam said denying that Blaine was right. "Are you sure you're not overcompensating a little?" Blaine asked concerned. "Overcompensating for what?" Sam asked baffled. "Your SAT scores. We all heard that you tanked," Blaine said as Sam sighed removing his sunglasses "But don't worry. There are re-tests." "You know what, dude? Like, if you choose to be jealous of my hard-core rockin' bod, that's on you," Sam huffed. "Uh, for the record, Blaine has an awesome body and a perky and delicious behind that looks like it got baked to perfection by some sort of master chef," Tina defended Blaine as Blaine looked stunned. "Thanks, Tina," Blaine said awkwardly as Tina nodded taking her seat as Blaine stopped Sam from leaving "Sam, I'm just looking out for you. I'm trying to be your friend." "Well you're not doing such a good job of being supportive. Just do me a favor and stay out of this okay?" Sam said taking his seat as Will then entered he choir room.

"Glee Club!" Will exclaimed as the New Directions cheered for him. "Mr. Schue, how was DC?" Artie asked."DC was great, but now I am back to stay," Will smiled a bit. "Holla!" Artie cheered as did the other New Directions. "And so, for my first order of business, I want to give a big shout-out to the guy who made sure I had something to come back to Mr. Finn Hudson," Will smiled a bit patting Finn on the back. "Thanks Mr. Schue, I really enjoyed filling in," Finn smiled a bit. "Well just know you're always welcome back here, anytime," Will told Finn as the New Directions cheered for him as Finn took a seat to let Will teach once again. "Now for this week's assignment..." Will began. "I hope it's Britney again," Brittany grinned as Will then noticed how Sam was dressed and was incredibly confused and put down his marker. "Sam...is everything okay?" Will asked. "Yeah why wouldn't it be?" Sam said with a shrug. "I think he's auditioning for Baywatch," Brittany said thinking it was a valid reason as she turned to Sam "You'd totally get the part." The other members of the New Directions also looked concerned that Sam was in a swimsuit in January. "Oh-kay...change of plans for this week's assignment," Will said as he began to write 'Acceptance' on the board. "Wait wasn't this the lesson when we sang 'Born This Way'?" Tina asked confused. "Yes it was. But it's come to my attention that some of you don't accept yourselves the way you are. That's why this week's assignment is 'Acceptance'. So sing a song to make someone in the club feel accepted, we bonded best as a group when we helped one another and that's exactly what we need to accomplish this week," Will said as the New Directions seemed pretty into the idea, especially Ryder who knew Marley was still being so hard on herself feeling like the original loss was on her shoulders.

Cut to the Spotlight Diner where Santana is waiting tables as a blonde waitress with a lot of eyeliner on was eyeing her. Santana looked back over at the blonde who just waved to her. Santana waved back, slightly confused by the girl whose name she read 'Dani'. "LOPEZ!" Gunter, the owner shouted. "What?" Santana snarked back. "Go fill ketchup bottles with Dani!" Gunther exclaimed as Santana rolled her eyes as she headed towards Dani who seemed all too excited to get to know Santana. The two continued to exchange looks as they worked on filling the ketchup bottles but it was Santana who broke the silence. "I dig your name," Santana said honestly as Dani smiled back at her So do you think that your parents like, knew that you were gonna grow up to be a lesbian giving you a boy name?" "I'm not a lesbian," Dani said all too seriously. "Oh, uh...You just wear so much eyeliner," Santana said awkwardly. "No, I'm totally kidding. I love lady parts," Dani chuckled as Santana smiled a bit a bit. "What about you?" Dani asked. "What about me?" Santana asked confused. "Oh I saw the looks you were giving me back. What's your story?" Dani smiled leaning in to listen to what Santana had to say. "I just got out of a relationship," Santana said honestly. "Well it's her loss," Dani said as Santana looked back at her surprised that anyone would say that about her. "Yeah especially since she dumped me for the most annoying guy I've ever met," Santana said as Dani looked at her confused "My ex was bi." "I mean, it's probably for the best. I think you need a 100% Sapphic goddess," Dani smirked flirtatiously as Santana once again was surprised by her forwardness. "Oh wow, you really haven't been with a full on lesbian have you?" Dani chuckled as Santana shook her head. "Well, let's start slow then. Do you have a place to crash? Because my couch is open if you need a place to stay," Dani said as Santana smiled back at her, realizing she had found a true friend in New York who could quite possibly turn into a girlfriend.

Cut to the auditorium as Jake walks in to find Marley standing by the piano with sheet music. "When I get a text saying, "Emergency. Meet me in the auditorium," I assume that you're on fire, or being attacked by a pack of monkeys," Jake said shaking his head. "I was. But the monkeys had squirt guns, and they put the fire out," Marley said as Jake smiled a bit at her as he moved in closer towards her. "That sounded funnier in my head," Marley admitted as Jake laughed. "Uh, seriously, I I wanted to start working on some song ideas I had for Regionals. I kind of have some redeeming to do," Marley said honestly. "No, you don't. Everyone is cool with you now," Jake objected. "No, they aren't," Marley sighed. "Okay, they're not. But don't put too much pressure on yourself. That's how things got messed up last time," Jake said honestly as Marley couldn't help but know he was right. "I think I have the perfect song for us to sing," Marley smiled hopefully as she handed Jake the sheet music. "I like this tune. It's super romantic," Jake said. "Is it?" Marley asked pretending not to realize it as the music for 'A Thousand Years' by Christina Perri began to play.

Marley and Jake sang slowly but surely connecting with each other as they sang. As the song ended Jake pulled Marley in for a kiss which Marley kissed back, knowing that this was what she wanted as they pulled away from each other Marley looked deep into his eyes almost hesitant to say something. "What? You have something you want to tell me, I can tell," Jake said as Marley took a deep breath. "I love you...." Marley said honestly as Jake seemed touched that she said it to him. "I love you too," Jake said as Marley kissed him again pulling him in closer grateful to have finally gotten together with Jake after months of them going back and forth.

Cut to the choir room as the bell rings. "Alright guys, does anyone have a song prepared?" Will asked as Jake's hand shot up. "Alright," Will smiled as he let Jake take over the floor as he began to perform 'Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself)' by Ne-Yo.

As Jake began to sing, Marley couldn't help but feel completely emotional thrilled with Jake's song selection. Ryder looked over at Marley, happy for her but still somewhat stinging from the fact that she had chosen Jake over him. Kitty sat in the back of the choir room with her arms folded annoyed at the fact that Jake was truly there for Marley which was something she didn't have but wanted more than anything. Marley teared up as Jake continued to sing and couldn't help but applaud with everyone else. "Jake, that was exactly what I was talking about," Will smiled at Jake. "Thank you....there's something I wanted to say to Marley," Jake said. "The floor is yours," Will said as Jake walked over to Marley taking her hand. "Marley, I know you've struggled a lot and I really care about you, more than I've ever cared about anyone before, so I want you to know I'm here for you, no matter how long it takes for you to see yourself the way I see you," Jake said as Marley shook her head wiping her eyes, grateful for Jake's support. "Thank you," Marley whispered as Jake nodded and sat next to Marley after the performance.

Kitty noticed Ryder's face falling throughout the performance and released that she might not be alone in feeling heartbroken. It was in that moment that Kitty decided that she was going to talk to Ryder and that maybe, just maybe she wouldn't feel so alone.

Cut to the locker room where Sam is busy working out manically wanting to keep himself in shape as Blaine walks over to him, shaking his head. "You're kind of out of control," Blaine said. "Yeah, well, haters gonna hate," Sam glared at Blaine as he continued to lift weights. "Will you please stop lifting?" Blaine sighed as Sam reluctantly put the weights down. "This isn't who you are, Sam. You're not just some body-obsessed muscle head," Blaine said shaking his head. "You don't know what it's like. You can sing and dance and you kick butt in school and you're all charming and everything, I have to announce my presence with authority the second I walk into a room. People have to notice me, or else they never will," Sam said upset as he took a deep breath "People laugh at my impressions because how I look already has them on board." "Do you really believe that?" Blaine asked incredulously. "It's just a fact," Sam sighed as he took a seat on the bench. "If you want to make it in this world, you have to be special," Sam said. "But you are special," Blaine argued as Sam looked up at him "Even without your body." "No, I'm not, man. It's....it's all I have. I'm exhausted. Watching what I eat all the time, my two-a-day workouts," Sam began emotionally. "Let it go. Have a burger every now and then. Eat a bag of Cheetos. Skip your workouts. Sleep in a little. Your body isn't going to change," Blaine said honestly as Sam looked back at him tearfully "And even if you have seven percent body fat, you're gonna see that all of us are still gonna love you. And we're gonna laugh at your impressions." Sam looked back at Blaine knowing he had a point. "Okay," Sam said nodding, grateful to have a good friend like Blaine who looked out for him.

Cut to the hallway as Ryder is at his locker as Kitty walks over to him. "What do you want Kitty?" Ryder asked as Kitty make a face. "What have I ever done to you?" Kitty asked. "I don't know maybe the fact that you've never had anything nice to say to anyone?" Ryder said as Kitty sighed. "Point taken, I've been a bitch to pretty much everyone, especially Marley who you've been looking at longingly like a sad puppy," Kitty said. "What's your point?" Ryder asked still glaring somewhat at Kitty. "My point is...I want Jake and you want Marley," Kitty said as Ryder seemed to think about it. "If you're suggesting breaking them up, I'm not going to do that. Jake's a really cool guy and Marley's happy with him. I think we just need to let our feelings go," Ryder said. "Easier said than done, especially for me," Kitty said with a sigh. "Aren't you still dating Jake's brother?" Ryder asked confused. "We broke up because he wanted to chase skirts and I wanted something a little more serious," Kitty said honestly. "That's rough," Ryder said sympathetically. "Tell me about it," Kitty sighed before getting a new idea "But you wanted that too, with Marley." "Yeah...so?" Ryder asked confused. "So, what if you and I started dating. It's not exactly what either of us want but I think you're lonely and so am I, besides you could do a lot worse than dating the head cheerleader," Kitty said as Ryder seemed to think about it. "Tell you what? You can get back to me once you've made your decision. See you around," Kitty said as she walked off as Ryder contemplated getting together with Kitty, especially since it might finally get Marley's attention.

Cut to Emma's office as Blaine and Emma are awaiting Sam's arrival. "You want to see me?" Sam said as he knocked on the door but looked confused at Blaine sitting there. "What are you doing here?" Sam asked. "Blaine asked me to look into something for you. Come on in and have a seat," Emma said as Sam did so hesitantly. "This is a very small sampling of colleges that don't require SAT or ACT scores. And they're really good schools, Sam. They're schools that recognize that a test score isn't always the best measure of your intelligence," Emma said honestly. "Or creativity," Blaine agreed as Sam looked through the school pamphlets. "And you can always take the SATs again if you want. You know, a lot of kids do that," Emma said honestly. "Yeah, well, let's say I somehow get into college somewhere. I still can't afford it," Sam sighed. "Yes, you can. Because even in this economy, there are hundreds of scholarships out there," Emma grinned as she handed Sam some papers on scholarships. "What you'll need for these is a personal essay about yourself and your accomplishments," Emma grinned. "Like what? Like my abs and my fish lips?" Sam asked confused. "Like the Glee Club. Like Student Council and Football," Blaine began. "You've accomplished a lot more than you're giving yourself credit for. But why don't you take that home and, um, just think about it," Emma said as Sam nodded realizing that he might possibly have a chance after all and it was all thanks to Blaine.

Cut to an empty classroom where Sam is sitting at a desk twiddling his penicil as Blaine enters. "You ready to write that essay?" Blaine asked. "No, I'm not," Sam sighed shaking his head. "Well, I've been doing a little research, um, with some folks that know you really well, and they all seem to think that you've actually accomplished quite a bit," Blaine smiled a bit as he placed a laptop in front of Sam which featured videos of many of the Glee Clubbers past and present to talk about what Sam accomplished. "What can I say about Sam Evans?" Quinn began the video. "Trouty Mouth inspired me to try my hand at songwriting," Santana smiled to the camera. "He was the first person who helped me realize my past didn't define me and without his support I would've never had the courage to go to Yale," Quinn said honestly. "Sam was the first person who stepped up when I was really missing Santana," Brittany said as we cut back to Santana. "Grouper Mouth," Santana sang. "No one else knew I was staging a comeback and besides that Sam stepped up to help me with my lesbian love child," Brittany smiled rubbing her belly as we cut back to Santana singing. "Froggy Lips," Santana sang. "You know, Sam gave me the courage to follow my dreams and become a singer, and without him I probably would have never moved to LA," Mercedes smiled a bit. "And let's not forget when Sam took care of his entire family after his dad lost his job. They were living in a motel, homeless, and Sam supported them. I mean, that's pretty amazing. He's a really substantial person," Finn said as Sam teared up. "Now, that's your essay," Blaine said as Sam wiped his eyes. "Thanks thanks, bro," Sam said emotionally pulling Blaine into a hug. "Don't mention it," Blaine smiled a bit hugging Sam tightly.

Cut to the choir room where Sam is performing 'You Found Me' by The Fray to say thanks to Blaine for all his help as well as the other members of the New Directions who let him know he was more than just his looks.

"I found God on the corner of First in Amistad. Where the west was all but won. All alone, smoking his last cigarette. I said where you been? He said, ask anything Where were you when everything was falling apart? All my days spent by the telephone that never rang and all I needed was a call that never came from the corner of First and Amistad. Lost and insecure. You found me, you found me, lying on the floor. Surrounded, surrounded. Why'd you have to wait? Where were you, where were you? Just a little late. You found me, you found me. Early morning, city breaks. I've been calling for years and years and years and years and you never left me no messages. You never send me no letters. You got some kind of nerve. Taking all I want. Lost and insecure. You found me, you found me. Lying on the floor. Where were you? Where were you?. Lost and insecure. You found me, you found me, lying on the floor. Surrounded, surrounded. Why'd you have to wait? Where were you, where were you? Just a little late, you found me, you found me. Why'd you have to wait to find me? To find me?" Sam sang dressed like himself again as the New Directions smiled through his performance glad to have him back feeling good about himself.

Brittany rushed over to Sam giving him a hug. "That performance was all kinds of awesome," Brittany said. "Well I couldn't have done it without a little help from my friends," Sam said. "And your very special genius girlfriend," Brittany grinned. "And my genius girlfriend," Sam chuckled as he and Brittany kissed. "I'm really excited for this new year," Brittany smiled. "Yeah...it's a new year and a new me," Sam agreed as we cut to the New Directions performing 'This is the New Year'.
