STAR'S POV
"What game?"
"I guess you could call it one with no boundaries" she says and the way her tongue wets her lips briefly both unnerves me and turns me on
"Um...okay so what does the game entail particularly?" I ask even though I honestly think we should just stop things here.
She's intoxicated and obviously horny, I'm vulnerable to her being so close to me and honestly a little turned on right now.
Going further with this is consciously going into what I said I didn't want to.
"10 minutes" she says and I raise a brow
"10 minutes?"
"For 10 minutes, we temporarily pause our existing relationship and I get to do whatever I want with you" she says "and you get to prove to me how much you don't like it"

Okay, I know they're just ordinary words but why is that turning me on? You'd think she just said something sexual
"The game is for 10 minutes?" I ask
"5 would be enough for me but where's the fun in that?" She asks and I frown at the smirk on her face
"What confidence" I say and she shrugs
"Well I know just how to touch a woman" she says leaning in and bringing her lips to my ear "in all of the right places" she finishes and I feel goosebumps run down my back
This is embarrassing. The game hasn't even started and there's a pool running between my thighs

"Yeah...well whatever" I say and face palm myself mentally as she chuckles

"Come on" she says, before taking my hand and leading me inside before letting go of my hand and walking over to the table in the room and grabbing her phone off it.
"10 minutes" she says, showing me the timer she'd set on her phone and I nod, watching as she presses the start button and the timer starts counting before she drops the phone back on the table
"Come here" she says and I take an internal breath before slowly making my way over to her by the table
"Are you nervous?" She asks, pulling me close to her and I clear my throat
"I'm not"
"Good. There's no reason to be" she says, brushing my hair behind my ear, first the right and then the left
"Are you thinking about how pretty I am?" I ask when she does nothing for a bit and just stares at me

"Yeah. You're really pretty" she says and my cheeks redden at the unexpected compliment "So pretty" she says just before she leans in and her lips meet mine in the softest way possible
Okay I wasn't expecting her to be this gentle.
The kiss is slow and gentle and soft and just enough to make my head spin, just like the first time we'd kissed

"Okay" she says only, making herself comfortable on the sofa before picking up the remote and turning on the TV
"You know..." I start, keeping my eyes on the screen of the television
"What?"
"You could have done a lot in 10 minutes" I say quietly
"Yeah?" She asks rhetorically and I don't have to look at her to know there's that stupid smirk on her face that I really like "I wasn't planning to do anything extreme though, just wanted to touch the surface"
"No?" I ask, turning to look at her
"No. The only reason I ventured further was cause even after you lost and the game ended, you wanted me to go on. I took that as a consent from you and not just cause of the game. I'm not fucking you using a game as an excuse" she says and my loss of words and slight coyness with a hint of embarrassment causes me to turn to the screen of the television once again
She really just says anything that comes to her, I couldn't say half the things she said so openly.
"I want to play a game" she says and I turn to her
"Another game?" I ask and she nods
"You like games, don't you? I want to play one then. I ask you one question and you have to answer honestly"
"Can I ask you one question too?" I ask
"Sure"
"Okay. What's your question?"
"Who do you like better between Kira and me?" She asks and I can't say I'm not surprised by the question
"What?"
"Me or Kira? If you had to save one of us, who would you save?" She asks "No, I like the first question better. Who do you like better? Honestly"
"Like in what way? As a person? Friend?" I ask
Cause either one you pick, I like you better. I like you better in every way.
"In any way" she says obviously eager for an answer
"I guess you. I like you better" I say and she squints her eyes
"That did not sound honest" she says and I laugh
"I am being honest though"
"Liar. You're picking me cause you kind of have to right?" She asks
"Fine you got me. I like Kira better" I say and she tsks
"You just lost your rights to my chips" she says and I chuckle
"You never give me any though" I say
"Yeah well, even if I was going to, now I won't" she says before turning to the television and I shake my head at her childishness before turning to the television
"Oh right, my question" I say, turning to her again
"What is it?" She asks, her eyes unmoving from the television
"If I ask, do you promise not to get upset?" I ask and that obviously catches her attention as she brings her eyes to mine
"Let's hear it first"
"No. Promise me you won't get upset first. I'm going to get really sad if you get upset with me" I say, putting out my pinky to her
"Alright, I promise to not get upset no matter what you ask me but I'm not linking pinkies" she says and I drop my finger with a pout
"I guess I'll make do with just that" I say before adjusting on the sofa so I'm facing her properly
"Savannah..." I start "Do you... still love her?" I ask quietly, really crossing my fingers mentally
"No" she says "I just miss loving her cause loving her made me really happy, that's all" she says and I nod
"I understand" I say and she smiles
"Okay"
"Do you know where she is?" I ask and I want to take back my question at the look on her face.
It's not anger. Just raw sadness and regret?
"I'm not sure. She passed away recently" she says and my lips parts open in surprise and I suddenly understand it.
Why she's been so sad for the past weeks. The crying and why she got so upset when I touched the picture.
I get it now.
I thought she just missed her. I thought she just missed the woman she'd shared a special feeling with but really, she'd lost that woman and not even on good terms.
The end of their relationship was her running away from whatever they could have had and I can imagine how much she must regret that. Regret hurting her like that.
All of those feelings and memories she had for and with her must have just rushed back and hit her so hard and she must have been so overwhelmed with trying to handle that while being strong at the same time.
I finally get it and my heart really breaks for her.
"I'm so sorry Logan" I say quietly
"It's not your fault" she says
"It must have been so hard to keep that to yourself. Consoling yourself on your own, I'm really sorry" I say, taking her hand in mine
"It's nothing I haven't done before. Things like pain and sadness go away, I'm fine really" she says and even her smile doesn't assure me
"Well you don't have to do it anymore, consoling yourself on your own. It might not mean much to you but I'm right here too and it'd be great if I could be a source of comfort too" I say
"You are" she says only and a smile pulls at my lips
"Promise?"
"I promise. Trust me, just holding you makes me feel a lot better so don't worry too much about having to say comforting words. I'm fine" she says and I nod
"I'm glad to hear that"
"Good. Can we watch some TV now?" She asks and I chuckle
"Yeah, let's do that" I say before turning to the television
