You see... Abuse; be it physical, emotional, mental, spiritual or involving more than one of the above.
It just isn't that one happening or two. Not even the memories, the tears, the shuddering, the haunted look in your eyes or your indescribable state. No.
It's the permanent alteration of your brain, your perception, your personality, your mindset. You're not, you're not the same again. You can't be. Even if you try, there's that magnetic pull of the 'square one' that sucks you back in, right where you started.
Letting go of the past isn't always possible. No. Not when you are living with it.
